Clear Traps: Factory defect or intended variant? [CLOSED]

I know some people have reported finding Clear Traps recently and some time ago, and people said that they are just factory defects that a few collectors might like. But did we actually have any confirmation that they were not intended as variant? I mean, they could be since the special variants of Trap Masters were Clear and why would crystal Traps not have any chase versions?

I think it's intentional, and just a problem with the dye.

The thing is though, have any of the water trap masters had this kind of fading?

Some of the colours do vary in the traps . My air bird totem trap is almost clear compared to my air sword trap. But those axes look like a really extreme case.

SA & Giants are the best skylanders games. I miss the old style.

If I remember right....these can can turn clear from being exposed to the direct sun light...not a variant!

Speaking out of my backside here, but....

They're not intentional variants. They're more along the lines of red/blue lips Chill or Green/Blue/Clear Prism Break - slight differences in production models at the factory.

I don't buy the sunlight idea, because, like SpyBomb said, the local TRU has a *ton* of the 'clear' Water Axe Traps hanging on their pegs. They look like this when they come out of the box and they're nowhere near a window. Besidesk I feel the cardboard would show signs of fading before the plastic inside would.

Additionally, we've seen 'rare' purple undead traps as well - something that shows the production of the traps to be inconsistent.

That's my two cents. Worth collecting? That's for you to decide. Did you care about the red/blue lips Chill or green/blue/clear Prism Break?

I've seen these at 3 different TRU, just figured they faded after sitting on the shelves for so long...

These are confirmed to be just defective Water Traps. Some of them were caused when too little of the blue colored dye was injected into the moulds, and most were due to exposure to sunlight. No need to discuss this further. Don't buy it from eBay; It's essentially a scam.
