Noting there's confirmed issues with Trap Team Tablet iOS with iOS 9 on "...iPad mini 2 and higher or iPad Air or higher"

From the Activision Customer Support forum:

"It has come to our attention that Skylanders Trap Team is not working properly on certain iOS Devices running iOS 9. We are currently working on a fix for this. We shall provide an update as soon as they are available, so please check back. Thank you for your patience and understanding while this is being looked into."

Excellent. Ironic (in a pleasantly amusing way) that the post you linked to came just a few days after I asked the same question of @ATVIAssist on Twitter and was told "we do not have any updates on this".

Looks like TT iOS was updated to version 1.20 with iOS 9 fixes.
