Disable AI racers in offline multiplayer racing? [CLOSED]

Anyone know if there are options to disable the AI racers if I simply just want to race with friends? I'm hoping there is, so it gives me and my niece a 2nd platform for what racing game to play on the Wii U, especially with the amount of characters and vehicles to pick from, as we normally play with the AI disabled.

I've played hundreds of races and gone through every option on this game; sorry, but I don't think there is any way.
