With all the updates we've been getting , they could update it in game before it's released to give it a bigger function. Otherwise yeah.... It's kinda worthless.

It's probably real since the Bowser/Clown Cruiser and Donkey Kong/Barrel Blaster combo packs are real!

On that note, I agree. They should have given the single pack version for the Ultimate Kaos Trap last year instead of just the regular ones. Also, I've already finished doing the Sky Racing part of the game all on Hard in all four game slots months ago with the Kaos Trophy.

This is the Kaos Trophy that was in Dark Edition. It's not one of the regular Trophies. I don't think any of the regular ones will be coming out of their pack.

Kaos Trophy is only a villain. The terrain trophies are two tracks and four villains(plus the respective extra modes), so they get an entire triple pack.

If people REALLY hate paying $35 for a racing pack, and they are desperate to sell em, it would NOT surprise me if the other 3 eventually get a single release. It would be the release of the ultimate betrayal, may as well go all in.

Kaos Trophy Single Pack is being found in EB Games and Targets in Australia. Kaos Trophy isn't street date locked, so stores are putting them on the shelves when they get them

Some dweeb in the boardroom at Activision probably brought up sales figures of the Kaos trap last year when suggesting this get a single release. "Although our traps were a failure last year so much that we had to pull the release of some of them, sales data shows us our clientele prefer to buy the overpriced chunk of plastic if it bears the name 'Kaos' on it."

Well that and the slam to collectors..."we'll buy anything", right?

I don't see how giving consumers more choice is a bad thing?

Really? The Dark Edition retails for $100 - vs. the $85 retail of the regular edition. For your extra $15, you're getting an extra vehicle ($15 msrp) and the KAOS Cup ($8 msrp) - so, aside from the dark paint jobs, you're up $8 in savings.

Regular edition was $75, not $85. The extra vehicle and trophy isn't a good deal.

However yeah, they never really promised this was exclusive, although I am wondering why they didn't make the one in the Dark Starter "special" like they did with the Kaos Trap. One thing to keep in mind is they can't just make up some new trophy figures in a few weeks. This was obviously part of the plan early on. I don't have a problem with it, but I wonder what they are thinking undermining reasons to get the Dark Starters for future games. I guess they figured locking a fourth of the "expansion content" away permanently to those that didn't get in on the Dark Starter up front is a bit dumb.

Maybe due to poor Trap Team sales?

Nah, it was always part of the plan. There is no way to get the content the trophy unlocks without it. They weren't going to make that content exclusive to a limited edition of the Starter. Just like capturing Kaos wasn't exclusive in Trap Team. Making a "special" or different colored version is one thing, but making a playable content unreachable is something else.

Trap Team looks like a block buster compared to SC sales at the moment. Traps REALLY didn't hang around, so that tells me that traps sold well. I'm not worried about post holiday availability in the slightest.

Dark editions are variants. It's not just an extra vehicle and a trophy. It's a complete different set. Besides the game and portal.

They had about 12 Kaos Trophys out on the pegs at Gamestop today. Not waiting until Saturday obviously.

Taking bets if we even get the next two combo packs in America. Hoping we do. However, with The U.S. Not getting all triple packs and such from past games, I'm naturally hesitant.
