I think that it originaly was the plan for her to do that but then she forgot what she had to do but did it anyway and Malefor used that as his advantage to take Control of Cynder.

She was brought up by evil forces, so it can't have been easy for her to convert. Some things just were habits.

I believe she was entirely turned to the good side (or to Spyro's side) by the time she faced Malefor. But some insecurity remained, and the cunning Malefor used this, her confusion, to bring her back under his control. Until Spyro made her realize how much she meant to him, washing off the insecurity and giving her something to hold on to.

Yep. Sadly, the game creators thought it would be a good idea for her to fall in love and try to forget it.

That helped make the game an absolute fail.

I've just realised, maby Sierra made it as one of thoes things where no one does actualy know, not even them. Like just an excuse kinda thing that they wanted to make you wonder if it was true but they hadn't even decided if it's meant to be true or not (if you get what I mean)

well i thought it was kinda cheep that when spyro was like "because you've left me nothing to fight for" and then cynder truns good again...she judt like did it on ther own there saw like no kinda struggle thing!
