Welcome.
I intend to make my own 3D platform collect-a-thon game on Unity. While this is happening quite frequently, I intend to do this in an entirely different way. I want this game to be hand-drawn and animated. When I am able to upload art on DeviantART, I will release concept art.
When that is done, please help bring support and suggestions with you. And do feel free to upload your own art. When more development is done, I want this game to be something I and you all want to play. Whatever you are best at doing, please bring your talent and skill for this game. Music, writing, art, engine editing, programing, all that will be necessary for this game, and feel free to upload. I also am trying to master my skill of creating a game on a computer.

Also of note is that DeviantART finally is letting me submit drawings. In only a short time I will be able to upload my concept art. A word of warning: if you have a tiltable screen, you may need to tilt it back some, my scans are terribly thin. smilie

This seems like a good platformer. The main character should have some more features though. Maybe hair?? Or something that makes gameplay different or unique. I have ideas just from looking at the art. I think the game should have a simple story. Nothing groundbreaking. The story should be more complex than most collect a thons though. Comedy would work well.

Sounds good! Thanks for the insight. I will try to continue working on the main character, to make him as appealing as possible. Also, You have my permission, to continue writing the story.

Unfortunally, no time soon. Sorry, but this is honestly just stage one. Gotta start somewhere.

More Artwork this weekend will be uploaded. more NPCs and maybe even landscapes. Feel free to add your own concept art. I'll check them out on saturday.

That's a good idea. I might add some of that into the script. Once more of the game shifts together we can decide on a title.

Hey i have a idea. There could be arcade machines hidden in levels that make you play a 16 bit mini level and once you beat it you get one of whatever you will be collecting in the game. I made a tune for one of the 16 bit bonus levels https://soundcloud.com/mr-atta...15/16-bit-tune1

^ That's...... That's a really good idea! You did a great job on the music, thank you very much! I did a drawing of the arcade for this feature, as well as the character sprites for the arcade. Artwork will be uploaded this weekend, and I just want to thank you again. Keep up the excellent work!

So the level starts of side-view, but as you move foraword towards the edge of the screen, it is revealed to be 3D. So one of the levels with be 3D, but still have retro 8-bit graphics. And this bonus level that I just described will have platforming reminicent of those bonus levels of Super Mario Sunshine. Does this sound good?

Yeah. I can make it longer. That is a good idea for a level. I have the story all put together. The evil Panda known as Master Nukpana is set on finding the power crystals that shattered into pieces and were hidden around earth. The main character finds Nukpana searching with his goons and finds out his plans and like all protagonists do, he sets out to find them before Nukpana does. Nukpana is pronounced, Nuke-pa-na. The name is evil in a other lanugage. I can change anything about the story if you want. mega spyro you are free to edit the story

(Unless you exit to the title lol)


This. I will work this into the game, so platforming will be so much more satisfying.

Ideas.

There will be a 4 health life meter. When you die, you will lose a certain amount of collectables (the quality of notes in Banjo-Kazooie) and respawm (think of respawning in Mushroom Men.) You can refind the collectables rescattered through the level.

Collecting the main item is similar to the "Item Get" image above. You do a little happy dance and touch it, raise it into the air and it dissappears in a ray of light.
The oppisite is said for Nukpana, when he touches it, it dissappears into a dark purple mist.
