Constant Game Freeze [CLOSED]

Hopefully someone here can help with this.
I play on a PS3. My disc is practically in mint condition (not even the slightest speck on it)
Since the last update, my game always freezes about 2 seconds after I hit start on the title screen.
It is extremely frustrating. I do not want delete all of my game data to take the update off, but is there any other way to fix it?

Can't you make a backup of the save file first so you can see if it's a problem with it?

I installed my game fresh with 1.04 being the first version, and have played the first two levels with no freezes. You may have to delete and reinstall.
