Me: "Amiibos are cool, but I would rather spend my money on game hat I definitely want first."

Other kid at school: "I know right, they'remlike $80 dollars."

Me: " Well, it's not like I'm buying more than 5 at once..."

Other: "No, they're like at least $50 for a single one."

At this point I suspect he's talking about a Gold Mario chase or something on eBay, so I mention it.

Other: "No, I mean all of them, at like GameStop."

Now I start feeling ignorance.

Me: "Just search one up, for a new one it's like $12-13, and used ones are under $10.

Other: *Searches* "Oh, they're still like 20 dollars, I mean the good ones, like Meta Knight."

I see his screen, and I see 2 listings next to each other, both for Meta Knight, but one was 12.99 and the other was 20.

I am still confused about why he lied about prices of things...he's pretty neutral to Nintendo, too.

Clearly he has no concept of money.

Either that or he's never looked up the prices and pulled them out of his ass.
