Story: One day while Kaos was out an about in Skylanders Academy, he suddenly remembered an old...acquaintance of his from the past. With this thought in mind, he took Glumshanks and left the Academy in a huff. He went to the fringes of Skylands, encountering a lone island with a massive spire on top of it. He went up, and greeted someone he had imprisoned (with the help of The Darkness) long ago. He promised to set him free, if he worked with him to defeat the Skylanders once more. The figure, in a massive suit of armor and having crystalline chains with equally so locks on the ends, agreed. And so The Enchainer, in the dead of the night, was released into the Academy, and stealthily captured the Skylanders in Corrupt Traps, using Traptanium infused with the surviving remnants of The Darkness. Having successfully eliminated the greatest threat of Skylands, he betrayed Kaos, abandoning him on the same island that he was trapped on, along with the allies of the Skylanders (Hugo, Flynn, Cali, etc.), and brought all of Skylands to its knees. But there is one hope. With Kaos' help, along with everyone else, they send out a signal throughout all of Skylands calling for help to defeat The Enchainer. And so a new team of Skylanders was called, and when they made it to the isle, there was a set of ten keys waiting for them. These keys were foolishly left behind by the Enchainer in his haste to escape his prison. They held the one way to release the Skylanders from their prison. The new Skylanders took these keys, and they became their new weapons in exchange for their old. And with these keys, they had the capability to free Skylands. The Keymasters were born.

Innovations: The new gimmick of this game is a few things. First off, none of your older Skylanders work right off the bat. Each Skylander will unlock a special Escape Attempt, and it will be a special challenge in which you battle the Enchainer's newfound minions and reach the special prison containing a single Corrupt Trap. You must use a Keymaster to play the challenge. In the prison, you use your key to release the Skylander from the trap, making it usable in the main world. Of course, you have to find the prison once it has been revealed.

This game is open world, with there being access to areas such as an immense forest, a large desert, a massive ocean littered with islands, and many others, each elementally themed. The different Prisons will be within those areas, randomly generated and containing a Prison holding a Skylander of the elemental alignment of the area (Land of the Undead hold Undead Skylanders, Desert holds Earth Skylanders). There are many missions dotted throughout, all in an effort to overthrow the tyranny of the Enchainer.

Along with the missions, there are many side areas, like Feats of Strength, Swap-Zones, Elemental Gates, and Traptanium Clusters. Villains would return, but only in the Traps. Don’t think that since the Enchainer’s released that he would release his old comrades. You’ll have to bring them in from Trap Team. And the vehicles would all also have the ability to be used in the different areas, some being more useful than others. Unlike Skylanders, they aren’t imprisoned. But you will need Superchargers to modify them with all of their mods.
There is a single tower at the center of the map which is called the Imprisoner's Spire that you maintain base camp. There you will find many of your old friends of the past, each operating a different section of the spire. Flynn maintains the Quick Travel area so that you can get to different sections faster. Cali gives you special Heroic Challenges that take you out of the main world and into a special challenge that will improve your Skylanders. Of course, they will only be unlocked with Keymaster Skylanders.

Hugo will keep you on track with Story Missions, and will remind you of areas to go with other missions. Tessa maintains On-world Battle Challenges, challenging you to defeat enemies in unique ways. Sharpfin will stick around to upgrade any Vehicles you might have, or if you find any Corrupt Trap Remains when releasing Skylanders, he will give you unique treasures that can’t be found by any other means. Among others, Eon is back giving you Emblems to increase your Portal Master Rank, but you can only earn them by accomplishing great feats. Mags is constantly improving the Spire so that it will be an ideal base for you, and provides quick travel throughout the tower, and also will build improvements with some gold as payment.

Auric returns running the new Spire Market, as he decided this was as safe as anywhere for a shop (And he was also dumped here after offering new underpants for The Enchainer), and will sell you treasures and potentially Corrupt Trap Remains he gets from his supplier, Softpaw. Brock is back running the new Spire Challenges, which are menacing Battle Arenas that are akin to Swap-Force’s grace, training you for the future to beat the Enchainer.

Persephone of course comes back with her new ability to switch upgrade paths for any Skylander. Buzz gives unique Hero Quests that are specialized for the new Keymasters. Kaos boots up his old Tower Simulator, which is his revamped Kaos’ Doom Challenge from Trap Team. Are you ready for some evil?

Glumshanks comes back with his Skystone collection, which he will battle you whenever you want, and you can increase your collection with Skylanders, Villains, Vehicles, and other baddies by buying them from Auric, or finding them in the world, or even as rewards for completing challenges. Ermit returns with a new Villain Vault, which lets you reload your Villains back into your Traps as you bring them into the Spire. And finally Pandergast comes back, being brought here after the Enchainer was offered a friendly race (in exchange for some cash). He lets you race and use your trophies whenever you wish here in the Spire. And as an added bonus, Grizzo comes giving you the capability to replay previously discovered zones that you have found in the world, and also manages the Trophy Room, which you can decorate with all of your treasures and Magic Items you have found (FYI: Magic Items work again!)

Location pieces unlock new realms to explore, from the pie-loving Darklight Crypt, to the ever-mystifying Sheep Wreck Island. Use your entire old collection, so that you won’t have to buy more! Minis now unlock special Mini-Feats, which will require the Minis’ small size to navigate. Also, Villains once again have their Villain Stashes back, requiring a new set of 11 Universal Traps, that contain a full collection of every Villain of their Element (The Kaos Element now includes Kaos’ Mom, Glumshanks, and a special other villain [Poll will be necessary]).

Returning Characters: With the influx of older gimmicks, characters will have to be rereleased so that newcomers have a chance to play with…most of what these is to offer, aside from Escape Attempts. They will have to be released, but then you can play with them all you want. Eight Swap-Force characters will come back; a single Giant, Trap Master, and three Superchargers will be there as well, with their vehicles, plus two Minis that will release in their own dual pack. Below will contain who will be selected.

Keymasters: Keymasters are the key characters (see what I did there?), as they are the only ones capable of releasing the older Skylanders from their prisons. But they can unlock the mightiest of locks with their Utilikeys. There a special chests that the Enchainer had left behind before he was imprisoned that can only be unlocked with these Utilikeys, and so they serve a dual purpose in the game.

Sorry for the...quintuple post, but I want this to be a group project, with there being polls to determine returning characters, help making a plotline, and, of course, refining this one so that we are all satisfied! Please read and enjoy, and, most importantly, suggest changes!
