I feel now with Skylanders that spyro fan are becoming scarse and now it seem that I m the last one here especially when a project of mine to revive the fandom and the series got completely ignored.If no one read it or answer it I may leave forever.

I feel like any answer will be met with anger or some strange conclusions,so I'll leave it at that.

I'm here, I enjoy the original Spyro games. Skylanders is a good game for kids, or whoever likes it. But it's not a good Spyro game. Same goes for the Legend of series. But that's just my thought.

I don't like skylanders it's why I feel alone and for deviantart I have a serious problem no ability to draw but for writing no problem.

It's just that whenever I check for dragon related games I find nothing who is not childish and because there none I want to make it myself with my own take on the spyro world but I can only write!

So I choose to write a fanfic series in place but it won't be enough and people will notice that english is not my native language if I start to write.I said that I may leave because being more than 18 with skylanders it became childish and what's the point of staying in a dead community with no fanmovies,fan videos,fan games anything except fan fic?

There are still "Spyro fans" out there, the only problem preventing you from finding them/finding any discussion on Spyro is because
A: The fandom as spread out and is severely dwindling, but this doesn't mean the fans themselves no longer exist.

B: There is just nothing more to talk about on Spyro. Like nothing at all, nothing new is happening, everything has been discussed so why bother?

Personally I always have been and always will be a fan of (the) Spyro(s), but I don't talk about it simply because there is nothing to talk about anymore.
It's unfortunate, but happens with any fandom of any franchise eventually, really.

I despise skylanders games!!! i mean they dishonor spyro in every way. the origonal spyro games and legend series looks like fun but sadly i am unable to play them because i don't own them or something.

Emulators....I will just say that or ps store and I don't think that it's impossible to make fan contents to replace official content and make news about them and possibly review to know fanfic worth reading.

If you never played spyro how can you like it?

You really can't judge that fairly if you played none of them. Even non-skylanders fans mentioned that they kinda feel like the Classic series every now and then,even if they won't touch it with a ten-foot pole.

And yeah,other people hit the reasons right in the head. No new Spyro content, constant fandom drama, older fans being pushed away because of said drama, no one really feels like doing something for the community anymore. It's awesome if you do, but from the look of things even if Acti went mad and decided to develop the series again people would go at each others' throats because it's not what they want 100%; we're too fractured already.

Define "true Spyro fan". Yeah..... if it's referring to the classic/legend fans, eehhhhhhhhh.

Seeing how as this is BOTH a Skylanders AND Spyro forum, with Skylanders now being the dominant driving force for Spyro's continued existence, you may want to keep your Skylanders hate to a minimum here.

By true spyro yes I meant classic/legend skylanders is not spyro so it don't count but what I truly want to see except my own project is fans projects especially fan movies or games.

Yeah, there are still on-going fan comics and fanfics of LoS lurking around. Some are a little outlandish though, like the fan story of Cynder's dark form being based on another dragon of the same body shape that was shunned as a child and once tried to kill Malefor in the dark ages.

Well, it's tame as far as fanfics go(c'mon I've read Face the Strange*, I've seen fanfic hell), but I meant more that there's activity at least :U

Games aren't people. Spinoffs are never excuses to replace main series games. If Spyro isn't getting solo games,it's not because of Skylanders,it's just Acti being Acti and sitting on the IP.

Well,I thought people learned that from Crash. He's not getting rereleases, no spinoffs, not even a crappy mobile game or Skylanders cameo. No excuses to NOT be making games,but dead he stays.

Let's keep fyra's topic to what it's about: activity in the oldschool part of the fandom. Wasn't there a fangame project for a 2D game the other day? I think the creator just stopped updating here and is doing it elsewhere.

Frixion just looks like drama after drama in the last pages,but I don't think I was around to see it when there was stuff happening. Talking about this one-man project,actually.

I don't think that Skylanders is part of the Spyro series at all, it's got really nothing to do with the original Spyro series. Skylanders is it's own series, it doesn't even mention Spyro's name in the titles anymore. And I don't know why they called the first one "Spyro's Adventure" as you can play as any character you want, should've just been named Skylander's Adventure.

Anyway on the true fan thing well I'm on the side of there is no suck this as true fan you just a fan of whatever true fan is...how do I say kinda of I don't if this the right....an exaggeration in this kind of statement....that was the right word right.....?

By liking Spyro...? I've played since A Hero's Tail, but I also like Skylanders and contribute way more to it because the fandom isn't as violent(cynder versus ember shipping wars e_e,LOS fanboys). I can do a funny pairing or dumb headcanon any day for Skylanders but god help me if I draw Cynder too unsexy.

Uh, I've been a Spyro fan since 1998 when the first game was out. I still love Spyro, even through LoS and Skylanders.

I had the chance to play Heros Tail and LoS does that count....and when I had a chance to play it I enjoyed it was a wonderful game from what I got to play I'm still glad there is so sort of Spyro to play as now in skylanders also reminding of the limited experience yet highly fun games of his past.

I'd like so see sources for that. Liking it or not, it's like saying Smash Bros is part of Mario - maybe it is? But it goes both ways so no need to be rude about it.

This is the upteenth time you have said that in other topics and offsite. Gosh, keybash, do you ever stop repeating yourself?

Skylanders is NOT part of Spyro... Spyro helped with the launch of the franchise, but Skylanders is its own thing now.

Spyro is still around, he's just become part of something bigger which imo has improved him because before Skylanders a lot of people had no idea who he was.

As for the 'true Spyro fans' thing it's a load of BS, because a Spyro fan would be happy that he's still around rather than being thrown onto a scrapped character pile, it's just an excuse to slag off Skylanders games.

Even if he doesn't get his own game again he's still around.

He's a Skylander now as well so get over it.
