I was going to buy just the game and Sky Slicer, but I wanted to know if Clown Cruiser had to scanned first or not.

Are you suspicious because of the of the iOS discovery?

Yeah, the iOS discovery had me worrying a little.

I doubt that the Clown Cruiser in particular is required. For one, the iOS starter made it necessary for the special Hot Streak to make sure that Activision wouldn't be cheapskated in case the person had an old TT portal and a regular Hot Streak. The 3DS version would only require you to get a Sky vehicle as far as I know. Did the past games force you to scan in their characters, like Gusto into TT? Or Punch Pop Fizz into Giants?

I haven't played the 3DS version, so I wouldn't know by first hand experience. But I think that the Clown Cruiser isn't necessary.

I'm pretty sure it's not necessary, and I think I scanned in my Nitro Stealth Stinger first, and I could play.

I got a dark starter pack without bowser for wii for 49 dollars when I tested it I did not need bowser also what happened with IOS
