The Clock Rock Dislike Topic

I've decided Wolfgang is going to be the only villain I don't capture in this game, all because of how much I hate the Clock Rock course right now. I swear, that course cheats! I'll struggle to keep the lead, and then in the home stretch on every lap at least two CPUs seem to just teleport miles ahead of me and I wind up getting third place! EVERY. SINGLE. LAP. Even on Easy difficulty! I've tried all the Supercharged sky vehicles I own, I've used the other villains, I've done all I can and I can't even get one star on that track! I'm sorry for this rant, I'm just seriously annoyed right now...

Lose them in the asteroid field and they won't come back; the AI doesn't know how to avoid it. Spin them out right before and watch them struggle and stay behind.
In Wolfgang's case, just don't stay right behind him, iirc he can attack like that.

@OP I had the same problem for the first 5-7 attempts, but then I discovered a shortcut the CPU opponents were using to skip a significant portion of the track. In the section just before the bend with the giant gears surrounded by Mystery Boxes, there's a long, rectangular opening to the right which is filled with cogs. If you fly through it, you'll skip the bend entirely and emerge just before the theatre. Since I found that shortcut, my skill with the course has improved a lot, and The Clock Rock is now one of my favourite Sky tracks. Believe me, smilie is worth it. smilie

Have you found the shortcut on the last U turn part? It is to the right just before the spinning cog.

Honestly, this track feels kinda like a mess to me. I don't like it. It's not because of frustration with losing at it or something like that, the track design just doesn't feel like it has any flow to me. It's a shame because the aesthetics are so great.

On the other hand, I think Cluck's Cuckoo Nest is one of the tightest and fastest tracks and one of the best overall.

I agree with all of this.

The level is an utter mess. They should have just made out of space or strictly time town.

This is both the most fun and also the most frustrating air course, although Cluck's race (for me) is more problematic.

There is a short cut towards the end of each lap, I don't quite know how to explain how to get there but you can cover up lots of ground by using that.

I think that the Sky races are the hardest ones in general. At first I thought the Sea races would be the hardest because of the low handling, but the tracks don't have sharp curves and you can avoid most things underwater. I remember racing in the canyon (don't know the name) and it was pretty hard in some parts. It was tight and had some sharp curves, even though the handling for Sky vehicles isn't much better than for Sea. I don't know about this track, but I will try on christmas (or even earlier).

The hardest for me is no doubt Cloud Factory. I keep bumping into things. My favorite one is Calamity Canyon.

This track is like the easiest one so far once you find the short cut at the end the race is breeze.
