as a third-generation japanese-american familiar with the history of japan, you are 1000% correct.

Oh, I specifically meant North Americans, the Apache etc. As for the Aztecs... There's only so many nice things you can say about a culture that is perfectly ok with live human sacrifice...

And with the native Europeans, I was thinking of the Germans, but the Celts couldn't have been THAT much nicer. And if we were to take it back even further to the prehistoric era to make them comparable to the Native Americans... Well we don't really know a whole lot about those guys (Because prehistoric) other than that they wiped out the neanderthals, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they'd generally murder you just for looking at them funny (Or if you had any of the aforementioned shinies on you).

EDIT: Holy ****, I barely read that last bit. Yeah, valskeletor nailed it, because the only written records we have of the Gothics and Celts were written by the Romans - the same ones who tried (and in the case of the Celts, practically succeeded) to kill them and take their land.

do you have any idea what you're talking about?

the neanderthals interbred with european humans and they essentially were assimilated into the modern european human, which is why people of european descent have approximately 14% neanderthal DNA.

the idea of germanic and nordic "barbarian raiders" was something completely overblown by the greeks and the roman empire, that looked down upon them for not adopting grecian culture like the romans did.

preroman northern europe wasn't much different from the native americans at all, except with more skill in metallurgy.
