I got some news and wanted to share. [CLOSED]

A friend told me last night that The Goonies is getting a long awaited sequel.

First of all, apparently this was announced last year in april, though I can see why the news wouldn't get around, given that they've been trying to make a sequal for years.

Secondly, how would a movie with the Goonies 30 years older even work?! And if they wanted to reboot it and have a new set of kids, it wouldn't be the Goonies anymore. That's why The Three Stooges (2012) was a terrible movie (Other than the fact that a modern film about a bunch of "funny" haired morons going around hitting each other with slap-sticks is a ****ing stupid idea (Albeit par for the course for American filmography these days))

It's supposed to be the original cast.

If you watched the original movie, they left an opening for the sequel, Pirate ship anyone?

They could try and re-live the adventure they had all those years ago with their own kids, by trying to track down the ship.

It could work in a similar fashion to The Force Awakens, with the original cast as a big part of the film, but on the side to showcase newcomers.
