Today in a Gamestop, I heard about a couple chase variants I wasn't aware of ever existing. Before you try to discredit anything, let me explain the conversation...
I asked the guy working if they had Scratch as shown on the website. He came out with a pretty full box of loose figures. I started looking through them and we found Scratch close to the top of the pile. I was like, let me look through and see what else is here. We were chatting about them and he mentioned that the couple who dropped these off were friends of somebody with the developers, or something along that line. I was like, oh, really? He said yeah, they had a couple figures I never heard of before, but I wouldn't take them because the only way to enter it in the system would be as S1 Gill Grunt and Slam Bam. I assume he ment S1 Slam Bam. Anyway, he went on to say Gill Grunt was a metallic green color. I replied with, "Oh yeah, that's actually pretty common". He goes, "No it wasn't that one, it was from Spyro's Adventure". I was like, really? He said he would have felt bad about taking it from them and told them it was probably worth some money. Then he added they also had this white Slam Bam that looked like it was covered with fleece. I said, did it look like fuzz glued all over it? He goes, "Yeah". I said it's probably a flocked Slam Bam. So yeah, has anyone ever heard of these Chase Variants? I would bet money on the truth to what he said. He's a very nice guy.

Green Gill Grunt is from the X360 Spyro's Adventure console pack, the rest sound like customs that could easily pass off as real variants.

You mean this? PID17168113:TRUS&cagpspn=plat_17168113&eESource=CAPLA_DF:28454826:TRUS">http://www.toysrus.com/product...F:28454826:TRUS Otherwise there was the gill grunt mentioned above. Never heard of a white slam bam (slam is pretty white as is but white without the blue..like the flocked snow white) Nadda |

He definitely said Spyro's Adventure Gill Grunt. He knew about the Giants one, and it wasn't that one. The lot they dropped off had a lot of Spyro's Adventure stuff too.

simple mistake on the part of the gamestop employee.
we were told by a gamestop manager that there are 8 or 18 variants of the "Hot Streak Car". Of course we know this is not the case.

I'm not saying they were real. I was just telling you what he said he saw. I came up with the same assumptions as people here have when I was talking to him. He clearly saw what he saw. I was just curious if anyone had come across the same characters. There was no mistake to be had, he simply didn't feel right about buying them as regular characters. He didn't confuse Gill Grunt with any of the known variants mentioned. Most likely they are just customs, but I wanted to share my experience in case there was anything more to it.

So this thread discussion is based on heresay??? There's really no need to keep this thread going unless some pictures pop up or at least a real fan sees these figures in person.

There was a white prototype of Slam Bam. But if it is fuzzy, he may have confused it with flocked Stump Smash.

Good call on the Stump Smash. That's got to be what he saw. |

I'm inclined to think this isn't the case, since I'd think a GameStop employee would be familiar with them - but I wonder if Gilly was the Eon's Elite version? It's got a metallic shine to it.

I will stick to the advice of chase variant experts on this forum instead of a Gamestop employee .
