I've been noticing I'm generally preferring the reposed character vehicles.

They just seem to be more unique. In function and in looks.

Is it just me?

Obviously some of my comparisons are just based off vehicle previews and what I've read .

Stealth stinger > buzz wing - for stealth mode and shield generation
Shark tank > thump truck - for street diving
Tomb buggy > crypt crusher - CC is just a little dull , definitely gonna prefer those tomb buggy blades
Reef ripper > dive bomber - the fish design and mods are cool , DB just needed something more, like being able to sonar underwater
Jet stream > sky slicer - I like SC's homing missiles but the jets tornados are just too good.


Burn cycle = hot streak - I prefer the cycle design but I'm not sure yet
Splatter splasher = soda skimmer - they both seem very similar atm but I am leaning towards sodas ammo switching and the hover boat is a cool design

Shield striker > gold rusher - the only new character one I think I'll definitely prefer , it looks great and that electro shield looks ace.

You're definitely not alone. I prefer the reimagined SuperChargers' Vehicles SOOOOOOO much more than those of the new characters. The only element which has me stymied is Fire, as I prefer the design of Hot Streak, but I find Burn-Cycle immensely fun to drive. The only way for me to be 100% sure which one I prefer is to test out Hot Streak and compare them both gameplay-wise.

Well, I do prefer Sky Slicer over Jet Stream... But that's about it.

I have to agree, Burn-Cycle is definitely better than Hot Streak under a lot of aspects, and Reef Ripper will probably be better than Dive Bomber (haven't got it yet but should arrive soon).
I also prefer Tomb Buggy's design over Crypt Crusher's but I think I might end up liking Buzz Wing more than Stealth Stinger which is still a cool vehicle.

Not really into Shark Tank's gameplay but I love its look.
Will have to wait Thump Truck to judge.

Well... I feel like all vehicles compliment their drivers pretty well in terms of design. But with that said, there obviously are some I prefer over others. I like the Splatter Splasher over the Soda Skimmer, Reef Ripper over Dive Bomber, Gold Rusher over Shield Striker, and Buzz Wing over Stealth Stinger.

I prefer new vehicles obviously. I only like the vehicles of Stealth Elf, Roller Brawl & Gill Grunt... three of the four returning characters (the fourth being Terrafin) I like (Yes, I kinda like the new Gill Grunt).

Tech: Barrel Blaster

It would win over Dive Bomber even only for the toy.

The reef ripper is a great looking toy , it's design is really cool and it suits a lot of other fishy skylanders . The dive bomber just looks a little plain in comparison, like no imagination went into it.

They should've made it look like an octopus ( octopus head body, tentacle propellers ) or something . or given it crab claws or given it a reef theme.

I also prefer the vehicles that have mods you can change that make them really match other characters.

E.g.
Reef ripper suiting thumpback and riptide

Stealth stinger suiting stump smash, zook , tree Rex etc

Crypt crusher is great for krypton king, bat spin n night shift etc

The burn cycle suiting ignitor ( this one looks really on purpose ) , fryno, hot head, I haven't tested yet but Id also think Ka boom would look like a great bikie.

jet stream suits boomjet and fling flong.

I find the sky slicer mods a little bland , but thinking about it now, it probably would suit free ranger and blades.

Yeah Dive Bomber suits Dive-Clops perfectly but really doesn't go well with any other Water Skylander.
Same goes for other vehicles such as Stealth Stinger or Sky Slicer.

That's why I'm not a fan of character-specific vehicles.

I would have preferred 2 generic Element-themed ones so each character would have fitted at least one of them.

Mods do help, you are right.
I mostly agree with the pairings you wrote but I'd say Boom Jet fits Sky Slicer better.
