Your mileage may vary on Plague of Shadows. I think the gameplay is better,but I think the story is simple in a bad way.

No attempt is made in making Plague Knight likeable other than 'he likes Mona'. Well cool beans, you still steal and kill for a living, heck he's the one that made the Hall of Champions that haunted castle.

I feel that, these days, all games are made to be intentionally too easy or intentionally too hard. Nothing in between is allowed, apparently. It makes it really hard for people like me, who don't fit in with the casual crowd and DEFINITELY don't fit in with the hardcore crowd either, to find a game with an enjoyable level of difficulty.
