Even though they do not impact your trophy or really anything in the game minus pride, I have been finding these are the most challenging aspects of the games...the 10 element and 18 supercharge challenges. Obviously not all I can play yet.
Spitfire - pretty easy, 3 stars, its the speed boost race, you can take your time on this one, no time bonuses or penalties
Dive Bomber - 3 stars, just finish the race decently fast without getting blown up for the most part
Gill Grunt - only 2 stars for me, need to eat fish but time matters big time
Stormblade - lightning race, 3 stars for me, just race fast. Pretty simple
Fiesta - music note bonus race. I got 3 stars but took a few tries. Keep your multipliers and do not hit those enemies
Astroblast - Light bulb race. 3 stars. Know that one short cut and try to balance getting boosts and light bulbs
Jet Vac - Balloon popping. I now have 3 stars. You need 410,000, just got 3 stars after my initial post today. Somehow got a magical game with bonus action I do not understand.
Stealth Elf - 3 stars. Shooting bees. Move fast and get what big bees you can. Those little guys add up.
Terrafin - crash into bug race. Pretty easy 3 stars
So for the 10 super chargers, I have 8 3 stars and 2 2 stars.
Elemental Challenges
I have 2 stars in water, life, undead, air, fire, and dark. I have 1 star in the incredibly hard earth and 3 stars in light. Will write more on those later. I have not practiced much on these yet but will. Life seems hard too.
So for me, the elemental ones are definitely the tougher of the two. Anyone want to compare notes on the tougher ones or especially the ones I have yet to get 3 stars on?

It's pretty inconsistent a cross the board. For example the tech one is pretty easy, but DK's challenge is super hard. Bowser's challenge is easy but the flying challenge is pretty hard.

Well, for me, Donkey Kong and Bowser are n/a as I do not have a Nintendo. Tech you think is easy eh, will focus on that one next. Wait a second, one can't do tech, there is no tech vehicle yet. Tech and Magic are the two we can't do right now.

Am I the only one who thinks 3 stars on DK's challenge is an absolute nightmare to accomplish?

I've got everything on 3 stars on everything that I have except only 2 on the Earth elemental challenge. If people are struggling with this one ...use an earth trap as ammo , it'll help clear a lot of blocks.
But I'm gonna wait for the thump truck to try get 3 stars, I don't think The shark tanks attacks are really suited to the challenge.

Thought you needed a tech vehicle to do the tech challenge....oh, do you have tech because you have a nintendo system? For PS4 or PS3 etc, there is no tech vehicle.

Elemental gates seem to be the hardest part for me, I've found the Supercharger challenges... tricky but fair personally.

I'm confused. Some are saying the specifics and some are saying the elements.
Specific wise yes the DK one is extreme. It seems to be easier with all the upgrades tho. Elemental wise I did Light in 1 try and ended up with all 3 time trials for it. Undead is more tricky. The element ones don't really save beyond having played them all once for a trophy/achievement.

For DK'S Challenge, it has been the most difficult for me to 3-star so far, but I just gotten over 470,000 points, the 3-star goal being 550,000. Ultimately, it is because I take the wrong paths at the wrong times. To 3-star it, I recommend the Supercharger mods (Simian Street Burner, Bonus Stage Boosters), setting the vehicle handling Portal Master reward to Land, and doing this: for the first split in the paths, only take the left path once, while the second split, take the right path only once. They don't have as many bananas, and are not worth going back for.
That's all I have for now, more info when I three-star it.

Wish I would hear more specifics on the non Donkey Kong / Bowser ones too. I would agree that the elemental challenges seem slightly tougher than the individual supercharger ones. Am going to look at the elemental ones a bit more today specifically. Perhaps its like most of the races, they get easier once you supercharge and put all your powers on the correct type of race first.

If I had to look at them that way, I would say, in order to get 3 stars....
Spitfire , Stormblade, Astroblast - easy Stealth Elf, Dive Bomber - medium Jet Vac, Fiesta, Terrafin - moderate Deep Dive Gill Grunt - hard Will see if I can make such a thing for the elements today |

This is tricky. I would love to unlock these challenges, but I refuse to buy all the figures and cars this year at full retail, knowing how cheap they go after a year or two. So I won't be seeing these most challenges for quite a while yet.
The Wildfire one tricked me for about 5 races until I realized that I didn't have to go full speed to hit the boosts. I can put on the breaks, redirection myself and go. How cheap I felt as I done that for nearly all the boosts but it totally worked and gave me a killer score.

Once you realise to basically ignore everything it the red fish it gets a lot easier.
I've done it a few times and I've actually found it difficult to get 3 stars every time . Sometimes you are a little ahead or behind the timing of the red fish and it can reAlly mess u up sometimes.

I 3-Starred every challenge I can with my current collection:
Superchargers: Turbo Charge Donkey Kong + Barrel Blaster (VERY proud of that) Hammer Slam Bowser + Clown Cruiser Spitfire + Hot Streak Super Shot Stealth Elf + Stealth Stinger Stormblade + Sky Slicer Deep Dive Gill Grunt + Reef Ripper Astroblast + Sun Runner Stars: 21/60 of a possible 21/60 Elements: Fire Tech Air Life Water Light Stars/Shields: 18/30 of a possible 18/30 Honestly, none of these were all that difficult after I beat Turbo Charged Donkey Kong and Barrel Blaster's challenge... I suppose all that effort carries over? The only thing I should say is, I don't think it's POSSIBLE to 3 star the Air challenge with Clown Cruiser The elemental zones were designed for the normal sky landers vehicles, in Barrel Blaster's case, that means it works TOO well (because I can tell from having trigger happy on my tail in a land race that his attack is like Stealth Stinger's or Hot Streak's, and i think high volt's is the same way, at least, neither can homing attack or hit the same range OR radius as barrel blaster) for clown cruiser, it's the opposite: it performs ABYSMALLY in the Air Challenge for pretty much the opposite reason Barrel Blaster is OP'd in Tech, but also because it can only really take out one enemy at a time, when the Air zone was designed/balanced for vehicles taking out multiple targets at once Each elemental challenge is based on a common trait all vehicles of that element share... Examples: All life vehicles can hover and turn in place, so Life is geared towards hovering, all water vehicles can change elevation in sidescrollers well, so it's geared around those, and Sun Runner is good at systematically taking out small clusters of targets, and has a relatively large hitbox radius for it's laser, so Light's geared towards that All fire vehicles have a speed boosting secondary attack, so getting from point a to point b as fast as possible is what the Fire zone is geared towards, I can only presume that the Air zone, is geared towards a vehicle that can either quickly switch targets and change direction, hit all surrounding targets, or can lock on to and take out multiple targets at once with a single attack (the last one describes Sky Slicer's secondary, but I don't know how Jet Stream plays, I don't have it... Yet ![]()

Well for the tech zone, the homing radius of the projectile isn't that important because you can steal the sheep by just ramming into the vehicles. You can also carry two sheep at a time. It's really easy to get 3-star it when you know that.
Also more advice for the DK challenge would be really good. It seems to be the hardest challenge by far. |

Okay, have noticed something. The level of difficulty on the elemental challenges changes the amount of time needed to complete them. Its easily the difference between 2 stars and 3 stars. However, the times are not resetting each time so its hard for me to figure them out. Am going to try and figure out all the details.
--- Okay, what I have found today. 1. Undead, can be 50 seconds to 210 seconds depending on difficulty extreme. Defeat 40 bugs. Decently easy with the 210 second time limit but not a given. 2. Fire. Can vary between 45 seconds and 55 seconds. Boosts vs clock seem to be about the same boon, just gotta make sure you take correct ramps. 55 seconds is decently easy after experimenting. 3. Earth. It just seems to be 60 seconds. Destroy the barriers first, use earth traps. I have yet to get more than 2 stars. Definitely hard. 4. Water. Just need to escape with your sheep. You have 60 seconds. With figuring out the pattern, it can be done. I would say medium difficulty to get 3 stars. 5. Dark. Find 5 sheep to rescue in 135 seconds. Get used to the simple pattern and its pretty easy. Takes a little bit to know your path to take and even then, you have a little leeway. 6. Life. Rescue 12 bugs in 2 minutes to get 3 stars. I find this one horribly awful. You do not get your radar until you have 10 of them. I consider this pretty darn hard. Have not gotten close to 120 seconds yet. 7. Light. Destroy 25 ships. Glitched a bit as you can lose a ship and have to exit to main menu if stuck with 24/25 ships. I would say easy to medium. Definitely do able, just need a little luck. 8. Air. Well, another level where you can vary the time by difficulty setting. Its 120 seconds which seems impossible up to 305 seconds which makes it pretty easy. Don't forget, you can keep swapping traps out. So those are my 8. I cant do tech yet as I do not have a Wii and none of us can do magic. I have 3 stars on 6 of the 8. Its just life and earth that are the toughest. |

Okay, Gill Grunt now 3 stars. The time bonus put more over 100,000 and a few more red fish. One strategy ploy is to just intentionally slow down a tiny bit to get a few more reds in that one section, but think I would rather get the time bonus. It was 14,000.
So, woo hoo, all 9 superchargers at 3 stars but can't get earth and life. |
