Main story:

kaos has used the destructive dark force to destroy the skylanders before they could stop him. Now you must make your own skylanders to stop kaos and the dark force.

I like the idea, but how would they work with the game? Would the starter pack come with instructions on how to make a chip for your figure?

The starter pack would come with 3 chips (for saving your skylanders) and a rift engine like portal with a slot for your chips. like it?
