Are the 3DS and mobile games canon?

I was wondering, I haven't played them, but watched gameplays.

If so, when do they take place?
I know Count Moneybone's in the console series, but there was no mention of him returning, or anything, and I don't know if the Iron jaw Gulch map referencing a 3DS level was trying to connect the two/make it canon, or just a little easter egg

And what about the mobile games? Lost Islands I would assume took place and has been going on since SSA
What about Battlegrounds and Cloud Patrol?

So counting Universe, how many games have been made? At least 10? Wow.

Let's talk about that.

If I had to guess, here's the chronological order of the games~

1. Spyro's Adventure - Skylanders Universe
2. Skylanders Lost Islands - Skylanders Cloud Patrol
3. Skylanders Giants
4. Skylanders Battlegrounds (Begins)
4. Skylanders Swap Force
5. Skylanders Battlegrounds (Ends)
6. Skylanders Trap Team
7. Skylanders SuperChargers - Skylanders Racing (Begins)
8. Skylanders Racing (Ends)

Fiesta's backstory is SF 3DS' final world(no,you don't really see him, unless he painted himself gray to be on the band playing at the end of Haunted Villa), so all but SSA can be assumed to be canon with Frightbeard still being around for the games and comics as well.Racing could have some conflict since it'd be kind of a jerk move for the Skylanders to go on the Tours instead of saving Skylands, but it could be a sequel since Pandergast didn't get kicked out of the Academy somehow.

Lost Islands happened from SSA to Trap Team, since it was more of a 'as new skylanders appeared they went to help rebuild' than a set in stone story. Battlegrounds and Cloud Patrol are more side stories which really wouldn't need to have a specific place to fit, they just happened to come out in specific lineups.

The 3DS games, Giants and Swap Force, at least, are definitely canon, since we have Frightbeard and Moneybone returning. SSA and Trap Team are a bit iffy, especially Trap Team, since the Eternal Archives don't match up with other appearences.

They don't match up but that doesn't mean it didn't happen, since the Eternal Archives seem to be the new *redacted* Library when it comes to Skylands history. Pomfrey's appearance definately means that Wiggleworth's design was Beenox not caring, though.

True. There's also really nothing saying that SSA 3DS didn't happen, other than it not being brought up again.

In a cutscene in SF, when going to Iron Jaw Gulch, Flynn is holding a map that says Brighthold Battlements (or something like that).

Brighthold was a level in SSA3DS. That makes me think it's canon.

The games are canon, it's why they keep crossing over into the console version.

I'd never thought there was any reason at all to doubt the canonicity of the 3DS games. Why wouldn't they be canon? Unless there's some obvious and intentional conflict between them and the console games, which I'm pretty sure there isn't.

Yup,there's no conflict, and if any appear in a line or two it's probably Beenox messing with someone else's lore as usual. The only thing that truly has conflict with the canon are the books,Mask of Power for minor stuff(though because of species and concepts that carried over,it has the TT3DS rule of 'it happened, just not that way'), and Machine of Doom for being completely in conflict with all games after Giants so you can say it isn't canon.

But they mention the Machine of Doom in the comics I thought? (or was it the Mask of Power?)
P.S. If I recall, the Mabu miners that Kaos stole the Fork of Infinite Resonance from, were mining Radiance Crystals, so...
Spyro's Adventure 3DS is confirmed canon?!

The way I see it, the hierarchy of canonicity should logically go (simply based on how these stories are treated in relation to each other):

Console games (absolute canon) > Handheld games (canon unless in conflict with console games) > Comics (canon unless in conflict with console or handheld games) > Any other supplementary material (canon unless in conflict with any of the games or comics).

But for the most part it doesn't matter since it seems like the only major conflict comes from a couple of the books (which are on the lowest level of the hierarchy, meaning they are the most likely level to be ignored by the other levels). The console games, handheld games, and comics all seem to be pretty tight with continuity.

actually it delights me to see the likes of Captain Frightbeard popping up in Superchargers
But how DID he escape the chest?
, likewise, I appreciate Moneybone making a comeback.

Myself, I'd still love to see a little more stuff on the Radiant Isles, I have to admit that was probably my favourite of all the 3DS titles (barring certain mechanics), but mostly because it genuinely felt different, and Hektor was legitimately one of the most intimidating villains.
