Wii U Controls changed?

Am I doing something wrong or did they change the controls?

in previous games I'd use the shoulder (or was it trigger) buttons for the secondary and third attack. They do nothing now....

I always used the A button for 2nd attack and X for third.

Well I learned playing games with face buttons only, so I'm used to it smilie I usually use the shoulder ones for secondary purposes.

The crazy thing is that some attacks (like Trigger Happy's golden rocket and Gill Grunt's starfish attack) now require you to press the Y and A buttons at the same time, despite being on opposite sides of the button layout. How the hell do they expect people to use those attacks without the shoulder button alternative?

The same way we did it before shoulders existed.

The problem comes where there is too many instances where you need those other buttons, I prefer the shoulder Attacks, but simply, they ran out of room on the controller. It would have been smarter to keep the Attacks on the shoulders and move the specialty attacks to the main buttons. Has anyone explored control options?

Yeah I think they did it on ps3 as well
L1 and R1 no longer work as attack buttons

On the PS4 you can easily remap the controller's buttons system-wide, but the game's prompts won't change the button they display.
