I've found a way to easily get vehicle mods, without needing to change your vehicle while doing it. It only needs a Land vehicle, and you get quite a few Gearbits from doing it as well, and some gold if you have any Skylanders who need upgrades.

Replay the first world, starting from chapter 2. There's 3 red toolboxes just in chapter 2's Land zone, the one that you have to get, one on the path to the right where the Earth elemental zone starts, and one in midair after a jump which is very hard to miss. Then in chapter 4, there's one in the Land zone to the right of the Sky zone, in midair on the right side. You could also just restart chapter 2 once you get to chapter 3.

However, I highly recommend turning down the voice volume if you do this. Flynn will become extremely, extremely annoying very quickly if you don't.

i kind of like the last level, overall its kind of fast to play though, 1 in the sky zone, 5 in the land zone and 2 in the water zone. with so many in the land zone just clear that part and repeat, idk which is faster. also after my 2nd play thought ( 1 on normal 1 on nightmare) i have about 116 of the 126 mobs you can collect.

Sky section in Chapter 4 has 2 mods, however.

Not doing this.
All my mods get screwed up if I`m not using the vehicle.
