Patch for PS3, Xbox 360/One & Wii U?

I was wondering, why is the PS4 the only console that got patched? Right now it's on 1.2.1, while all other consoles are on 1.2.0. I'm sure the reason is hilarious. My problen is, I've ordered a pretty cheap Nightfall and I would like to at least play the final chapter with her, so when should we expect the patch?

Some consoles get patched faster than others, some also charge copious amount of money for it. Maybe only PS4 was approved by the time Acti decided a recall is cheaper.

if you dont need a patch consider yourself lucky, because you have better working game on disc than the other versions..

Which hasn't been a widespread problem since as usual you're making stuff up.

Sigh, more complaining about patches from CountMoneyBone. Wah, wah, wah, in 30 years my game won't work perfectly anymore! The hard and disc drives in your system will probably die long before the service is shut down. They having moving parts that will eventually wear out. And your Skylanders will almost certainly be in various states of dying out - those internal chips don't last forever, flash memory has an high end write limit.

Sorry, but having games that can be fixed or have stuff added is far better than worrying about when the current gen consoles will be old novelties. Games are way more complex than back in the day, not to mention the online component often needs tweaking when exposed to a massive load. There are practically no games that come out that don't receive some sort of update these days. In fact, once installed the disc is nothing more than a key to make the game work.

defpally, totally get the practicality of the "here and now" and it's really the model today...for better or for worse. I also think for those wanting to have this product or service working down the road is a valid argument to make, although to your point given all the points of failure in this franchise we'll more than likely have virtual skylanders by that time in the virtual emulator world. In short, I argue there will be alternative ways for us to play the games we're playing today down the road, and this problem may not be that big of a deal--but I get the concern.

This is why cartridge based systems will always last and need to make a comeback.

In 30 years, if I want to play Skylanders like I still play my NES I should be able to. Bring back carts. Viva la carts.

It would be hard to do non-disc games given they routinely exceed 30 GB these days. It also limits the ability to add content. If they made the media flash based maybe, because then you could write updates but still - flash has a limit before it starts to fail (it's long, but still) and can you imagine how much games would cost if they included and additional $20 or so in manufacturing costs? If anything, I'd expect more and more push to digital only, expecting an Internet connection is not unreasonable anymore for gaming.

Down the road this whole remaster concept is just getting more and more popular. You can enjoy older games with new gen flourish. I'd expect more of that, and maybe a couple generations down the road, long after Skylanders has died maybe we will get Remasters where character options are done on a menu or something.
