skylanders superchargers racing 3ds amiibo support?

Was looking at the box online of skylanders superchargers racing 3ds and the box shows (amiibo support) the Wii U and Wii versions do not show this. I know bowser and DK also work as amiibos but it seems odd to label it like that just because of that (if the Wii U and Wii version do not) as bowser and DK are not even working in amiibo mode on kylanders superchargers racing 3ds. Is there any other amiibo support in the game (using the New 3DS NFC reader or adapter for old 3ds units)?
