Good question. I would say we don't know them all. recently that highly volt variant came as a surprise since none of us manage to discover it while trying different words combinations on the official website. So, I would say no, but I could be wrong.

But it's not an ingame variant, so there wouldn't be a page for it.

The High Volt variant is a chase variant, not an Alt Deco that would appear differently (more than just the "Special" designation) in the game. I believe the question is whether we know all of the Alt Deco variants in this game. We will never know the chase variants ahead of them actually being found, there is a special tag in the figure that identifies it as "Special", they just set it to true if it is a chase variant - any figure in the game has the potential of being marked special, but Alt Decos have to be coded in ahead of time. These are found through hacking, or in more recent year simply browsing the character list in the 3DS version.

There's still a chance that there could be currently unknown variants. The recent leak of the Power Blues could mean that there'll be a few hidden ones in there.

Not only has the Power Blues leak lead to this, but:

As defpally said above, you can usually find all the figures that register differently on the 3DS versions. But if you search through this year's 3DS version, 2 known variants are missing.

These being Easter Thrillepede, and E3 Hot Streak. (Along with the Power Blues, but those are unknown.)

With this being possible that some variants may still be secrets, I hope this means Elites for Sunburn and [preferably] Sonic Boom are still possible.

Otherwise, it means some figures might not work on the 3DS & Wii game [which might make sense when you consider Gulper and Painyatta are exclusive playable villains in these versions, but over all is still a really bad idea.]

Which is partially why Alt Decos aren't on my list this year. It has gotten out of hand, particularly chasing single figures around town since Activision still hasn't figured out consistent release dates and distribution. I did get Legendary Jet Vac, I thought he looked cool and had an opportunity to round out a friend's even number of figures for a TRU B1G1 40% off and we split the discount - but not worried about the rest. Definitely not falling for getting a second Air Racing Pack, I'll wait for the regular one.

I will however likely get the new Eon's Elite, I really like the way they are done, particularly the way they made them special this year with extra details. The first eight are the highlights of my current collection, they look so nice (and were worth it once they went on sale).

Just a tip, if you are on the fence, I'd definitely skip Alt Deco vehicles. It is going to suck to get them and have them not get much functionality after Superchargers - you know that is going to happen.

Ya know, it's getting very close. When I last stopped counting we were at 10 or so variants. I think we're at 13 now. that and a whole chapter of jabs directed to people that chase them. They're starting to sound elitist.

Fiesta already has a variant, honestly I really like the character, his dive/hide ability is Kinda lame though. And would like to say SS Terrafin and DD Gill Grunt are really good characters their reimagined forms are pretty cool, if this how reposes are going to be going forward then I am on board. If you haven't tried them I would recommend both, now SS Stealth Elf hasn't impressed me. And personally I am looking forward too DD Trigger Happy, looks like a lot fun.

Nice explanation, thanks. Is there any way to know if it's a chase or Alt Deco variant only by the pictures of the figures or their artwork? I'm curious about thrillipede's eastern one, being alt deco or not. By the way what does Alt Deco comes from?

I know what you mean: The [figureless] Lost Island exclusive variants confused me when the first appeared. Granted the first time I heard about them was during Early Giants, and only 3 existed. Lucky Boomer, Cupid Flameslinger, and Buddy Wrecking Ball. Since then there have been a bunch of them, from Hallow's Eve Hex to Grill Master Chop Chop [including 2 Easterlanders]!

And hopefully I'm reading your question right: If you mean where the term Alt Deco became a thing, I believe the Official Game Guides, starting at Giants, maybe Swap Force, started using the term.

Activision should be focussed on producing the full range of skylanders and other parts in normal shape first.
- What was the point in releasing legendary traps but no normal yawn traps ?
- Was it meaningful to produce many variants for Skylanders Giants but forget to release non-LC Drobot in most countries ?
- etc, etc. There are examples for each Skylanders game (LC Bumbleblast, LC Hex, etc.) ?

This is a VV game. Utility is valued over damage. It's part of the shame of not getting an arena mode. They're enemy designs and combat utility blow away anything TFB come up with. TfB is all about just DPS and "jousting".
