I thought I'd do this with Skylanders SuperChargers out now, and I wanted to see everyone else's opinions
whoops if a similar topic has been made recently~

Your Top 20(ish) Skylanders, and why




1. Hoot Loop I loved this guy ever since I first saw him in the previews, I love his design, gameplay, voice, everything about him is so fun. He may not be the strongest.. or fastest.. but he'll always be my favorite, his teleporting is always fun to mess around with
2. Stealth Elf I always use her stealth-based abilities rather than combat, and I've liked every version of her, including Super Shot ( despite not being very Stealth-y ). I have good memories from SSA with her too.
3. Whirlwind She started out as my least favorite Skylander, I honestly could never find good use of her, and she stayed low-level for quite a while. Until one day, I played with her, and realized what I had been missing out on. Her clouds with chained lightning can kill anything, not to mention she's just a happy character to play as.
4. Bop A cuter version of Bash, with the coolest voice of all the minis. Is there really anything else to say?
5. Gill Grunt He was always my favorite from SSA, along with Prism Break, Eruptor, Zap, and Ghost Roaster. But for some reason, Gills always stuck out to me. I'm happy to see him reposed in every game
6. Grim Creeper I was waiting for a Skylander like him since the beginning, and he immediately caught my attention in SSF, great gameplay, character, great skylander. Love the colorful yet grim-reaper-ghost design. Fun ghost and scythe gameplay.
7. Spy-Rise I was pleasantly surprised with this guy. I wasn't expecting much, and to me, he was the least visually appealing Swapper. Anyone who has this 'lander knows he means business. He has one of the widest arsenal of attacks of any Skylander, from healing himself, slowing enemies, escaping into the air, shooting lasers, pulling up enemy health bars, shooting multiple projectiles, he's basically unstoppable, easily in the top 5 strongest/best skylanders, and is very annoying in PvP.
8. Cobra Cadabra Being a snake, I liked his design right away. Not very useful.. or strong character really.. I just like him.
9. Roller Brawl Fast and fun lander, need I say more?
10. Hex Didn't like her in the beginning, but she's lots of fun to me now.
11. Lightning Rod Not too many skylanders look like LR, and his wide variety of lightning attacks are strong and amusing.
12. Blastermind Love the design, and gameplay.
13. Krypt King I like the dark mummy armor, the sword isn't a let-down either.
14. Bushwhack Huge axe, and tons of attacks,
15. Jet-Vac Very cool looking, and though not always suitable in most situations, I like to play as him, gives me a good challenge. Like the voice and suit. Hurricane Jet-Vac only gets me more excited.
16. Tree Rex Nice Starter character.
17. Voodood Very cool design. Underrated, and fun.
18. Eye-Brawl Awesome Giant.
19. Bumble Blast Spam the bee's, and no one gets out alive..
20. Fire Kraken No ranged power, but he's goofy, always fun to use,

Honorable Mentions:

Well, I can't name 20 as my favorites, but i'll participate.

1.Bumble Blast: King of OP, 3 games running. Nuff said

2.Bash: Was really good in SA SG and SF. Speed and heavy hitting power works well.

3.Donkey Kong: Really powerful in super mode, juggling is a life saver.

4.PreSC Stealth Elf: Always been a personal favorite

5.Knight Light: Feels too human to be a Skylander, but pretty fun to play

Well you'd have to be blind not to see that "reasons" are why my favs are my favs, but I'll make a few comments anyway. None in order of preference as it's too hard for me to do that for most of them.

Hex - My first (of two bought) Skylander ever. Played Giants entirely with her. Love her dark mysterious look.
Stealth Elf - My second (of two bought) Skyladner ever. Much easier to use than Hex. She's a bit too wild but fun to play with.
Rollerbrawl - A vampire, what more do you need to know!
Bat Spin - Another vampire type!
Echo - Goth punk type, this would show better if she were a human type instead of a dragon type but she is one!
Whirlwind - A fun character if you got two of them. Heals really well!
Flashwing - A fun OP character with her heals. Feeling low? Go off to the side and heal yourself up. I think she's also the cutest of all the lady landers.
Deja Vu - She's legendary! Her comic with the trap fleshes out her character a bit and you really feel like rooting for her.
Torch - The opposite of Chill. You always need an opposite power for a great team up.
Gear Shift - One heck of a character! She is my main go to gal for Trap Team. Very OP!
Headrush - My secondary go to gal for Trap Team. I like how a large set woman can have a figure compared to countless perfectly figured ones.
Star Strike - Another mysterious character, much like Hex. I would love to know more. She's pretty good too at Swap Force.
Splat - Soooo cute! That's all one needs to know.
Storm Blade - She seems interesting. Once I get the game, I'm sure I'll have a better opinion.
Cynder - a smooth character she is. Someday I'll play the Spyro games to see what she's all about.
Chill - Stay Cool! Her play isn't that good, but I like her anyway.
Ninjini - I liked her looks a lot, but she plays bleh. I think that's because she's one of the slowest characters out there and doesn't do much damage.
Nightfall - Very scary...Once I get the game, I'm sure I'll have a better opinion of her.
Tuff Luck - Meow! A cat-type but she didn't really turn out as good as I had hoped. Probably my least used lady lander.
Knight Mare - One of my fav gimmick landers for play and looks. Wish I knew more about her though.
Scratch - Don't have her yet, but I needed another character to have 20 favs.

my favorite is Stealth Elf...can't quite pin down a specific reason why though

I'll start with my top 5, and as I have free time I'll edit with more skylanders:

1. Knight Light: The best design IMO. Have wait for a male winged humanoid warrior since SSA was released. Apart from that, his powers are very spectacular: sword combos, teleports. create light portals and flies. My top skylander by a long, long distance.

2. Spyro: I have always loved Spyro, since I played his games on ps1. Something about him is very charismatic. He's also a very complete characters, with range and melee attacks. Oh, and he flies, which is one of the features I love most about a skylander.

3. Batspin: Love her design and particularly her power into turning into a giant bat, that blow my mind. The only thing I would have changed about her is the legs design, I don't loke that black bat aura.

4. Thrillipede: I love his power when he sprout wings. I still have to know what does this power involves: is it a flight mechanic or some kind of explosive attack? Nevertheless, the same as with the butterflies, a creature able to transform himself in such a way is amazing.

5. Dunebug: One of the most enjoyable characters to play with. Very intuitive and fast range attacks, great flyer and knocking attack extremely useful for arenas. I also love his design.

Might as well post my top 3 here
1. My name says it all. The first skylander I ever got!
2. I spent months looking for this magic giant and I guess after rubbing a bottle I got my wish!
3. This guy looked amazing from swap force. And hes still fun to play as!

20)Dino-rang - really wish I could get one with a wow pow and a figure that has the obsidian armor on it that isn't a lame elite figure (refuse to buy those and so should you)
19)Bash - has always been solid. I still remember taking out a trigger Happy in one hit in SA PvP. There a reason his Series 2 is worth more then any of the original corelander figures in Giants.
18)Stink Bomb - I don't car if he's a little weak. He's fun with a solid look. I like playing on Hard and Nightmare with the lesser charcaters and still crushing face.
17)Ignitor - Was in MY trio when I played the original game (Terrafin, Gill Grunt and him) and I was sold on the series not being just for the kiddies. He's been sliding down my list as new charcaters come out, but he's still great and a fun toon to play
16)Freeze Blade - I love ice style control and this is the guy if you like that type of toon.
15)Fire Kraken - while not a world beater and some of his coolest moves aren't that effective his fun play style and great look slide him onto the list
14)Knight Mare - the fact she's a centaur immediately pushed her up the ranks. Love the bleed effect, and I'm actually glad they rebalanced her to come back into the pack. I like a challange not OP fiddle faddle.
13)Hot Head - for how much I dislike Eruptor, it doesn't carry over to this Giant. Hot Head is like a Stay Puffed Marshmellow Man on fire (put the sailor hat on him, it's pretty funny) I just wish you could flip his paths like a series 2. They are both really fun.
12)Tree Rex - I roll my eyes at the default characters sometimes, but this guy is great. Awesome vocals, great moves for a giant figure, great look. I had half the Giants ahead of him prior to the game, but after playing him, he was just great and really helped you get into Giants.
11)Zook - Love the voice, walk, unique play, and overall look of this guy.
10)Cobra Cadabra - just a great looking toon with fun gameplay
9)Magna Charge - if you don't think this guy is fun.......I don't consider your opinion valid
8)Wham Shell - if it wasn't for Gill, Whammy would see the Portal a lot more for me. Two of the best looking figs. Fun melee combos. Just a cool toon.
7)Krypt King - easily became my favorite trap master in looks alone. Enjoy his look as he walks around and has a simple and fun move set.
6)Thumpback - I was mostly done with Giants by the time this guys was procured, but I've had to slide him in where I could. Probably the best "presence" of all the Giants
5)Whirlwind - another character that is far from OP but is always rewarding and competent if you just figure out how to use her. Polar Whirlwind constantly gets the nod for the portal
4)Terrafin - This is another that doesn't surprise me why he shows up. Another that plays exactly how you'd think a land shark would play and his New character looks amazing
3)Fryno - Constantly moving up my list. Love the look even though I normally dislike the dwarf-type characters. Should have been the Fire supercharger on that bike, but at least I can race him on the bike anyhow.
2)Fright Rider - don't know why he didn't get a repose in Trap Team. Just a fun Knight character who does what you'd expect a knight to do.
1) Gill Grunt - There are reasons he keeps showing up. Complex rewarding gameplay and his new move sets don't dissappoint.

Honorable mention: any Earth not listed (beside head rush.....yuck), Chill, Camo, Fling Kong, Snap Shot, Lob Star, Torch, Bumble Blast, Ghost Roaster, Lightning Rod

I always judge by appearance for if they make my top characters. That's because almost any character can be played well if you try so.

Anyway: since I'm here:

It's kind of hard to pin point 20 characters when there 144/152 of them! Especially when I've not played a good chunk of them. But I'll try.

[Bonus] 21: Ignitor - He was my first skylander, and as such I think he's basically mandatory to be put on this list. Hence why he's 21, and not even 20.
20: Chop Chop - I've always liked him, and he's probably my most played skylander, being the only one who've I leveled up to 20 [Before Eon's Elites Automatically became Level 20 that is].
19: Sprocket - There's just something about her. It might be hitting things with her wrench. She also reminds me of the TF2 Engineer with her turrets.
18: Smolderdash - I love her design and her whip weapon just overall!
17: Blast Zone - Bombs and Fire Knights. Who have jet feet. Need I say more?
16: Roller Brawl - She skates on sawblades, and uses claws as her main weapon. Plus, over all she has a cute design [Pre-Super Charger].
15: Grim Creeper - I just like having a grim reaper skylander. His ghost powers was a nice bonus.
14: WindUp - I just had a lot more fun playing as him than I expected.
13: Deja Vu - I loved her design first thing. I always liked hour glasses, and she just seemed really cool.
12: Hoot Loop - He's an owl magician. I'm just happy we have an owl skylander in general. Teleporting is fun.
11: Tree Rex - This is purely based on how much I used him in Giants. He was just solid.
10: JetVac - Probably my second most played skylander. He's just over all really fun with a solid design. Plus he get bonus points for being able to fire enemies back at other enemies [if they're small enough].
09: Tie between Head Rush & Knight Mare - (Head Rush) Over all, I like her motif. She a big woman styled off classical opera singers, with the Norse Viking overtones to boot. (Knight Mare) - Her name is the best wordplay ever, I lover her sword with its jagged pattern, and that we have a centaur!
08: Pop Fizz - Another greatly designed character. He's a potion's alchemist, which is already cool, but he also has the transformation thing going on. He's basically 2 characters in one.
07: Zoo Lou - Purely based off his attacks. I love using the animals of nature to cause havoc. Even if they are only made of green energy...
06: Splat - The paint idea is great, and she's a goat. Everyone loves goats! Really I can't wait to play as her.
05: Flashwing - I love this character so much. She just emanates radiance with a wonderful design. Her move set is great and she is just over all one of my favorite skylanders. Plus she reminds me of Rarity...
04: Star Strike - Another great character design wise. Her robes and mystery are alluring, along with her cool looking paddles. But most importantly is her gameplay! I adore the rhythm based attacking of hitting your star ball repetitively with your paddles, your attacks getting stronger with each successful serve. It also gets bonus points for reminding me of Tennis with Ganondorf!
03: Tie between Spotlight & Blackout: (Spotlight) She's a solid looking dragon, though she does look alot like Flashwing. Her lasers and Rings interacting with each other is cool, even when not very practical. (Blackout) By far my favorite dragon design. He looks like he's half decayed, and when he started shifting his body around like shadows when I started playing as him to see his attacks, I loved it!
02: Fright Rider - By far the most fun skylander I've ever played. Charging through enemies and setting up combos by spinning his spear around mid charge, he's just so fun. And if you set him as a driver in Super Chargers, He still Rides Fright, while in the vehicle! I guess Fright... the armless [and wingless] bird drives... Huh...
01: Sunburn - A bit of a strange one, but Sunburn became my favorite because I used him as my main avatar on Skylanders Universe before it shut down. I just became attached to him and made him my favorite. On top of that, he's a Pheonix and and Dragon. Best hybrid. I find him fun, to spite how weak, and sometime unwieldy he is. And to this day, sadly, he is still the only Original lineup skylanders to not get a second figure of any kind. No repose, No reimagining, No Elite, Not even an Alt Deco [I'm not sure about Chase Variants]. This makes him unique is someway, and he sort of shares this with my #2 slot, Fright Rider [ignoring chase variants, that is]!

Honorable mentions: Spyro, Cynder, Bowser, and DK. [I just didn't want to put any of them on there because they were established characters even before Skylanders.]

Blades is awesome. Was one of my favorites from Trap Team

I'm not really sure yet but I can tell you who's at the Top of the list.

Wow, just my Top 20? I currently own almost 50 Skylanders (not counting Vehicles and other figures), but I'll list my personal preferences:

Slobber Tooth - I didn't think I'd like him at first, but he's become my favourite core Earth Skylander. None can match his voracious appetite!

Jet-Vac - A favourite of mine since Giants, not only is he fun to play, but he has a backstory which just speaks to me, making me feel he is truly selfless.

Whirlwind - My favourite dragoness Skylander without a doubt!

Fryno - Another one which I doubted I'd enjoy, his motorcycle form is a lot of fun. Still think he should be a SuperCharger!

Gill Grunt - Some players may be sick of him, but he'll always be one of my favourite Skylanders. His Reef Ripper is currently my favourite Sea Vehicle.

Bumble Blast - Slather a foe with honey, then unleash the swarm. A powerful combo move!

Fright Rider - Narrowly beating out as my preferred core Undead Skylander, this underrated dark elf-ostrich team deserves its place in my Top 20.

Spyro - I've been a fan of this incarnation of the purple dragon since the beginning of the Skylanders series. His Mini counterpart is so cute!

Pop Fizz - A goofy gremlin with a savage personality just waiting to bust out and tear Kaos a new one!

Trigger Happy - A goofy gremlin with a silly personality just waiting to flip out and blast Kaos a new one! Wait...did I already do that one?

Knight Light - Others may prefer , but this guy is one of my top favourite Trap Masters.

Free Ranger - I don't get how he can be a chicken if he's male. Wouldn't he be a rooster?

Wildfire - I almost gave up on finding him and very nearly bought instead. So happy that I finally stumbled across him!

Hammer Slam Bowser - As a massive fan of Nintendo since the 90s, it's only natural that Bowser makes the cut, as he and end up pushing out both and , who just miss out on making the list.

Snap Shot - Awful fake Aussie accent aside (it really is just terrible), I've been a fan of this guy since the trailer for Trap Team!

Tree Rex - One of my Top 3 Giants, along with and the aforementioned .

Turbo Charge Donkey Kong - The cream of the SuperChargers banana split crop!

Ninjini - Definitely my favourite Magic gimmick Skylander without a doubt!

Magna Charge - Swapping him with almost makes his name like that of a certain Pokémon...

Nightfall - So excited for this SuperCharger!

Honourable Mentions:

1. : Ever since Swap Force this dude has just stuck out to me and the way he can summon animals is just awesome.

2. : Sadly, my second favorite, but never got a repose. His ability to teleport using fire is amazing and I love how he is a pheonix and a dragon.

3. : Lock breaker. The main reason this dude is my thrid favorite.

4. : I love soccer. I love bombs. Put them together and BOOM!

5. : I just love the looks of this guy and his attacks are amazing and I also love how he can puff and unpuff.

6. : An extremely creative character I still love, even if he'll be old by 2 years in a couple days.

7. : A character that I think looks amazing and has cool moves, but is one everyone just forgot.

8. : I love this dude because his weapons are an electric cord sword and an electric outlet shield.

9. : Extremely fun to play with including his mini, Eye Small.

10. : He's at #10 because I painted him to look like the Headless Horseman's horse and he's awesome.

11. : Holy crap, I took my first glance at this dude and thought, 'He's gonna be so op.' Then I was right.

12. : The only troll skylander, and trolls are my favorite mythical creature.

13. : Flaming acorns. That is all.

14. : I just like the looks of the dude and that he has a shield for an upgrade.

15. : I love how he can summon his friend 'buggy' to help. And I just like bugs in general.

16. : I knew she was coming on this list. Her figure is amazing and I like her backstory.

17. : He's like his knight-like sword as a tail, and how he can shoot blades from his wings.

18. : He is a grim reaper. What else could you ask for?

19. : I like his idea and I think there should be another version of him.

20. : Sadly, the last in my list. At first he was my thrid favorite skylander during the Swap Force era, but just because he's last, doesn't mean I don't like him anymore.

It was really tough to make these choices, but I did it.

Don't. Her personality is nonexistent in the first two games and butchered into angsty rebellious brat in the third. Skynder is SO much of an improvement you don't even know, the LOS ones could be easily seen in a let's play or cutscene collection.

I'll go with a small list of 5 as well, putting my collection in order will be kinda hard. I won't include Spyro for once because it's kinda cheating at this point and he's always tied for first or second with someone.

1.Hex, of course. This game hasn't changed my opinion on her one bit.
2.Krypt King. Chop Chop Daddy had the better outfit(that smaller blade and sash did just the trick), but the undead locust gameplay is awesome.
3.Knight Mare. Great gameplay,great design, and the filters make Hex's VA even scarier.
4.Blades. This guy shot through the ranks for me lately His appearances in the comics are full of personality,and his mechanic is great - plus, a knight dragon design that actually looks believable.
5.Ninjini. I prefer the Scarlet variant, but she has a great design and the bottle mechanics are a ton of fun. Plus a warrior that broke out of a curse by sheer force of will.
