Instant Skylanders in future Games

Although the removal of Stat Cards for Stickers(or completely removed for Starter Packs) has been a heated topic, the other change for the worse I feel was the addition of "instant" Skylanders. This goes against the whole foundation of the series, that being "Toys to Life".

It makes me curious about the future, will be begin to see every character be offered in a alternative digital format? Something like $14-16 for the figure or $5-7 for the digital version for those who do not want the figures, etc. This is not out of the realm of possibility.

Well, I hope it doesn't become a constant thing for non-starter pack figures, but if it means not paying horrid import tax and shipping, I'll take a digital version with Starter Pack instants to buy the figures when I have the time/money.

But figure DLC? Heck no.THEN it'd kill the point of toys to life. Instants are time savers so you can 'play on the go', they should never replace a character, just be a quick to grab one.

I think it should just be limited to digital purchases of the game, for those who do t have the necessary figures to complete the game.

Fancy Skylanders are stronger in this zone.

I think they should be released digitally over a year or 2 later ( for a small fee ) , e.g. For something like trap team , release digital traps because traps arnt gonna be produced again and there's not really any second hand for a good price .

SA & Giants are the best skylanders games. I miss the old style.

I personally just see Instants as a means to still play the game when our nfc chips die, something that should of been in place since the first game. Wether or not this is going to hold any barring on digital, I dunno, can only speculate.

228 figures, 26 traps, 24 magic items, 480 games, 19 consoles.... I have a habit.

That I will agree on....while I do not think DLC/instant Skylanders should replace figures, I DO think it would be good if after buying the figure and placing on the portal, that unlocked a digital version of the character.

That way, our games are future proof and we do not have to rely on the RFID chips.

I think they should at least offer the Adventure Pack add on levels as traditional DLC as well as in toy form...though that's largely coming from my inability to find Trap Team's Sunscraper Spire and Midnight Museum packs.

On the subject of instant Skylanders...I came up with an idea for a new game. A digital free to play Skylanders game, where those of us who have and continue to collect the toys can plug in a portal and use them but those who might be interested in the game but not buying a bunch of toys can buy instant versions of every Skylander ( though they'd lose out on variants, and maybe magic items ). You'd get maybe 1 or 2 free instant characters ( possibly on a rotating basis a la Xbox One Killer Instinct )...and the levels would feature element gates, dual element gates, feats of strength, vehicle zones for all 3 terrain types, side quests for both Skylanders and trapped villains, a new take on Swap Zones ( as in fun diversions based around the abilities rather than the mostly annoying crap from SF )...and every character would have a Soul Gem hidden over the course of the game to act as a way for newbies to preview characters. Sound like a good idea to anyone else?

I personally think they should release an official way to backup and save ones figure digitally on a system or computer. I know there is other programs out there but i always thought the codes on the skylanders should be able to be loaded up on a skylander acct or something.

This is a good idea because it would be very hard for someone to pickup trap team and play it. I do feel somewhere down the line be it the 10th anniversary of SSA we could get some sort of digital pack of the games. It would bea good marketing point. I'd love a PS4/xbox one SSA/Giants etc.
