I hadn't planned on picking up Sky5 until the deep discounts on black friday, but I was at Gamestop yesterday, and the had a used Wii U version. (I think someone picked it up to get DK, and traded it back.) I knew there would be issues playing it, since I have no vehicles or new skylanders, but I was surprised to see the "Instant Hot Streak," so I could at least play up to Skylander's Academy.

Sharkfin want's me to talk to his pit crew, but of course I don't have a supercharger skylander. I'm goon pick up the halloween alt today, but was wondering if I needed to pick up a vehicle too, since I don't know if the "Instant Hot Streak" will be upgradable.

Should I pick up a wind or water vehicle? And which one?

If you leave the portal empty, you can use Instant Spitfire too.He can upgrade vehicles like any other supercharger.

All you need to complete the game (If it is Superchargers and not racing) as far as I am aware is a Land vehicle, so any kind of car.

Other than that everything else is optional.

Can I upgrade the Instant Hot Streak with the Instant Spitfire? I was only gonna pick up the Halloween Fiesta because it was the last one GameStop had, and I have an unopened holiday Lob-Star & a Rebel Lob Goblin light trap to turn to pay for stuff.

I completed my collections of sky1 - sky3, and almost completed sky4, so I have plenty of figures to play the game with. Is there a reason to get all eight elements as superchargers figures for 100% story completion? In sky4 I had to get all 10 trap masters because of the gates. It look to me like I really only need an Air, Land, & Sea vehicle to 100%. If this is the case, I could just pick up a sea & air, and use the instant Hot Streak.

They work exactly like regular figures,they just look like cheese and aren't physical. However,of course,they won't be there for next game,so getting a Supercharger to compensate eventually could be a plan.

The only reason to get all eight elements is to see all Elemental Zones in the academy,which are more or less minigames with no requirement(I think they give you Stardust but you can get the same out of replaying levels for Live Wire Lockmaster).

So basically, I only need to pick up an air and sea vehicle to 100% story mode? That's pretty awesome. The blatant money-grab from sky4 really soured me to the franchise.

Yup. Just be wary, the game tries to fool you into thinking you require a Sky vehicle for the final world. You don't,they just hide the option to skip it in a NPC dialogue.

Okay, I think I'll try to get the nitro Stealth Stinger. What's a good in-game variant for water?

I don't think there's any yet,other than Dark Sea Shadow which you might want to get used since it's from Dark Edition only. There's also Power Blue Splatter Splasher but we don't have news of when it's coming out,it was found by hacking the game, and Nitro Soda Skimmer,which I just don't remember.

All right, thanks for the info. You think I should hold on to winterfest & the lob gob trap, and wit until I have some extra cash, to get the other two vehicles, or return them to pay for the two vehicles?
