Can any one give their Skylander a name other than their offical one? I know in the past you could, not sure on this game

No nicknames anymore. Even your old landers seem to show up with default names, no option to chanhe either.

That's a bummer. Didn't use it...but liked that capability.

There was probably a lot of complaints of inappropriate names given to pre-owned figures, so they decided to exclude that feature.

I've bought some pre-owned Skylanders in the past, and their data wasn't erased.

Yeah, I was just wondering how they would keep profanities out of names for online. I guess this is how they do it... taking away the future, instead of just turning it off for online.

That's disappointing... has anyone checked if your legacy nicknames are deleted if you "take ownership" in Superchargers.

Why the heck would they remove nicknames? I renamed all my characters getting reposes and now it was for nothing? COME ON! Either they forgot about nicknames or they just didn't care and got rid of them. Other then some other stuff and such, This game is still awesome

I would think it would be because people gave them inappropriate names? With online modes, another kid could see the names?
I dunno, I still feel like they could have found another way other than removing them >.>

FORGET THE NO NICKNAMES! I will call them whatever I want!

Yeah, I'll be calling them as well, and leaving the names in my guesbook list too. Just because traded pokémon in the games can't be nicknamed doesn't mean I won't call them something better than FARFETCH'D in all caps.

Contraire, mon frere. It's focussed. Based on what I've seen they've done an incredible job with the game and with the required "balancing" act for it all. I'm having a blast. There are so many features I'm still exploring I haven't even noticed its omission.

So far, the elemental zones appear to not be a big part of the game, and I enjoyed that as part of a strategy. But you guys will get used to going without...I've been two games now without Heroics/Quests.

they could easily just have the option shut off when entering online and still kept it for the offline. it should not be a huge problem to do... but i guess it will be back in skylanders6 by tfb.

Yeah, it's not like the data is gone...it's still stored on the figure...just need the game to recognize.

maybe its a vv thing. tfb and vv is pretty much making two different games at this point. so one developer have this and other dont etc..

I'd argue it's inclusion for omission WAS online. It's not like they didn't already have code ready to accommodate the feature. Rather than make someone angry because their nickname didn't appear online, they just scraped the feature altogether. Makes sense to me.
