When I first saw them announced, I was thinking "Why, just why?". But later I adjusted to them a bit and thought they were okay, however later on, how they began to get involved in Skylander canon, I'm guessing they could've scrapped the entire Skymiibo concept.

I know they had bonus challenges where characters mention their names, I also saw that comic they were in which I facepalmed at, and seeing that they are never in non-nintendo consoles really bugs me, as if they never existed in consoles. Also I have a Wii U and if I ever want this game, I'm never getting Spitfire thanks to them. This whole idea is just awkward.

My opinion is:
At first I really liked the idea of them, and loved that I would get them with the game (even if Spitfire wouldn't be in the starter). But they (ungrew?) on me, and I started to question if it would feel right at all, along with the fact I thought the shirt DK and armor Bowser have were ugly. So I decided to pick up a Bowser amiibo instead of waiting for the Skylander one, and decided I'll wait on this game until it's like 3 bucks used at Gamestop in a year or two. I'll pick up Hot Streak for like 3 bucks probably as well.
Then all I will for sure need is Splat. I'm still undecided on Steel Plated Smash Hit, Nightfall, and Spitfire.

I know I've mentioned this several times before, but Nintendo should have also allowed Yoshi to join Bowser and DK into Skylands.

They are a nice idea but have overall been executed terribly.

I still hope the comic they are in is non-canon (or won't at at least add that much to what we already know).
The fact they replaced Spitfire inside Nintendo Starter Packs is just offensive.
They should have replaced the overly pushed Super Shot Stealth Elf in my opinion, if anything...

i would actually like yoshi in skylands, somehow i think he fits way better than bowser and DK.

but my opinion is they slapped everyone in the face with this. calling them 2 of the "20 characters" but only if you have a wii/ wii u? just a sellout move if you ask me. as far as them being in the comic, i got no opinion yet, i need to get/read the comics, i fell like im missing out on something not reading them.

I love them. They were what reinvigorated my enthusiasm for Skylanders and they've been living up to all my hype so far. I'm even beginning to wish Bowser was the main character of the Mario series instead of Mario. He's just so damn cool and deserves to be playable in adventure games more often.

V I still think Yoshi would make for a great Magic SuperCharger with glittery white feathery wings and drives in a Sea Vehicle called the River Dragon.

We already know a Hot Streak Single Pack will be released and same goes for Super Shot Stealth Elf.
At least having a brand new character (which, surprise, a lot of people would prefer over Stealth Elf number 132) would have been better.

Starter Packs have been handled rather badly this year but nothing time can't fix.
We'll all have the characters and vehicles we want, eventually... Except for Spitfire, it seems.
We currently don't know if he'll be released in singles and past experiences make me think he won't.

So yeah, Bowser/Donkey Kong, Clown Cruiser/Barrel Blaster and Spitfire would have definitely been a better configuration in my opinion.

I think it'll be nice if it drives sales for the series. I have a Wii U, but got the Xbox One version because I still assume that the PS4/XB1 have better graphics and smoother gameplay, as was seen in the last two games. I might get it on Wii U if the game goes on sale in a few months. I love the Wii U and Nintendo characters, I just stopped obsessing about having everything.

I feel like if they had made the Nintendo characters single packs, then lots of little kids that play on PS or Xbox would purchase the characters only to be disappointed when they got home and tried to play as them but couldn't

I love the skymiibos but i only got Donkey Kong because don't want to spend a fortune to get Spitfire and Bowser
overall I enjoyed playing Donkey Kong and he's not bad in combat.

I personally like them. I feel like they fit in and their movesets definitely make them fun to play as. Well, DK anyway, haven't played as Bowser yet. But I'm planning on getting the Wii Dark Edition for Christmas, so I'll see if he's fun to play as too.

But with that said, I sadly have to agree. They definitely were not executed in the best way. Not because of the starter pack thing. I mean, if they were sold as single packs, chances are there'd be clueless parents not bothering to analyze them and bought them as a gift for their kids with an Xbox or Playstation. So that makes sense to me. But mainly because it's kind of unfair to the Xbox/Playstation players that us Nintendo gamers get two extra characters and vehicles to play with while everyone else gets nothing. And it's especially worse since apparently that comic means they're canon.

In my opinion, I love the idea of these crossovers. But if they decide to do more guest star Skylanders, they should go with characters that would be universally compatible. Like, say, from a multi-platform game, or characters from cartoons and comic books or something. ...Plus, am I the only one who thinks it's kind of ironic how Nintendo turned down the idea of Skylanders being Nintendo exclusive, and yet now we got Nintendo exclusive Skylanders?

I brought a Wii U Dark starter and got Dark Super Spitfire. Is Dark Super Spitfire very different than the regular Spitfire? He can still supercharge both Dark Hot Streak and regular Hot Streak right?

Any characters that come in starter packs end up being really easy to get secondhand even from major retailers. For example, you can go look up Ninja Stealth Elf on Amazon and it's $4 loose. Gamestop usually has starter characters in their used section.

As a longtime Nintendo fan, I'm excited for the hybrids. Donkey Kong in particular is my favourite SuperCharger. Having said that, it seems like a waste for Yoshi to miss out on the fun, especially since he would be a perfect fit for the franchise (A dragon guest star in a world populated by dragons?). Plus, the fact that there is no extra Sea Vehicle kind of bugs me.

I don't think a human plumber (with moustache) could fit with the skylander universe. It would be weird.
But nobody expects (if the amiibo trick works) a pokemon cross skylander in the future?

Well Bowser is technically a dragon, so you've got that.

As for my opinion on this matter, I love the idea, although even I will admit that they were packaged poorly. I can understand not releasing them as singles, even though all they would need to do is have a big "only on Wii U Wii and 3DS" sticker to avoid a lawsuit. But the way they put them in the starters is just asinine. Two skylanders of the same element? Why not just put in Spitfire instead of Stealth Elf? At least the dark editions fix this problem (which I got), but it still isn't fair to Nintendo users to have to get Spitfire secondhand.

extra sea vehicle...maybe they could have done a Yoshi Skymiibo ( sounds weird to me...I prefer Amiibolander ) with a submarine type vehicle based off the sub form in the Yoshi's Island games? or maybe Kirby as an air element character with a Meta Knight themed sea vehicle? ...My Nintendo obsessed brain is full of ideas ( Slippy Toad & the Blue Marine? )

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Dungeons & Dragons, but there's a creature called the dragon turtle, which is essentially a hybrid of a red dragon and a turtle. Your comment has made me realise that Bowser is like a dragon turtle (albeit with an ox's face).

Also, I was using amiibolander long before Skymiibo became the "official" term. Glad I'm not the only one who prefers the former.

I absolutely agree, it makes sense they are Starter Pack exclusives.
