Well, at least 25 bucks cheaper is really good. But man, I was so hyped to play along with everyone day 1 - guess I don't need to say that racing then isn't happening :I at least I won't have classes next week so plenty of catch up time.
This also means I won't be able to watch the Launch stream on Minikaboom with a friend, darn.

I don't know how and when eShop releases work, so who knows. Someone did say that there's a strange lack of 'Coming Soon' stuff on Japanese eShop however, like that April 1st digital event.

$49.99 just for the software and digital versions of Hot Streak and Spitfire..../lol. What a joke. so $25 more for a portal, two Super Chargers and a ground vehicle?...yes please. The M.S.R.P. on that alone is at least $41.00 not including portal. Let's say the portal is worth $9.00 to round it up to $50.00. I could have seen the digital @ say $29.99 or maybe $34.99...no way in Hell @ $49.99. Sympathies for anyone that buys this (I know some won't have a choice based on region).

Yeah, no choice for me. If there was a worldwide release I'd be having breakfast near the store on Monday to get the starter pack. At least it's 10 bucks below digital Splatoon, so I won't feel too bad for choosing :U I'm more worried about that date really.

Or you can wait for Black Friday and get the starter set for $35 to $40 at most locations. If you can wait two months that is. I'll be doing that unless someone flips a Xbox 360 disc on ebay for $10 between now and then. I wonder if I can get by with just Splat and her boat or do I actually need a land vehicle to finish the game (hense why they put one in every box)?

Anyway, I was hoping the digital would be $30 as that's what I would consider to be fair but I knew it wouldn't be that cheap. What sucks is that it'll be $50 forever even when all the stores are slashing the sets down to get rid of them in the Spring. A lot of times it's cheaper to buy a 5 month old used disc than the digital copy, you know?

In what spaces, fairyland? Skylanders isn't sold in Brazil(and Black Friday is a total joke here that happens for a whole week, for a bit of trivia). 'Sides, waiting a month to pay import tax along is even worse than a day for Instant figures and real ones later.

Also,went looking around,apparently eShop update day is Thursday and not Monday? So there must be another reason for digital being a day late,if it's going to be at all.

SSA Portal=Giants Portals, no?

Giants portals from Battlegrounds work with co-op Swap Force, so I think there's a difference.

Yeah, so basically I don't see how anyone would get the digital version on Nintendo platform since the major thing would be to play as the Skymibos.

Well, a longtime fan who doesn't want to play as the Amiibolanders or couldn't get the 25 dollars extra for physical on time. But after the first week, dunno much about the appeal for it with all the store sales except for the countries where the game isn't sold.

I thought you get more then Spitfire and Hot Streak for the digital only one. I do find it expensive at 50 tho from the get go.

Can someone confirm after launching the game if you need a Portal or not to play this Portal Owner version of the game? Pretty sure it is the case...

In interviews, they said that it works like the Tablet version - no portal you're locked into Instants.

However,the eShop listing says that you need any portal,so that might've changed.

The Activision FAQ says you don't need to plug one in to play with the instants, though, so maybe the eshop description is taking 100% completion into account.

I either pay a crapload of money for things I don't want (physical game on both WiiU and 3DS) on top of the digital pack, or I can't get what I want. That simple.

I have to buy the SAME game three times???? Last time the Wii version came with a download code which is what I bought. I still have the unused Wii game in the box. But buying the WiiU version twice? at that cost?

Yeah,it's exactly like that,they care about your money. No need for a rant, many other decisions were pointing to the fact they are making collectors spend a dumb amount of money which a few singles could fix.

I'm planning to buy the WiiU version digitally, buy the physical 3DS game with Bowser, his vehicle and Super Shot Stealth Elf, and then play with my Swap Force portal.
I do wish there was a WiiU bundle with Bowser.

I think you might have the right combo there. I had pre-ordered the WiiU pack, but buying the 3DS pack and digital for WiiU might be the way to go.
Donkey Kong is ok and all, but Bowser is where it's at. I might sell the WiiU physical pack without Kong and his vehicle on eBay if I can.

What they need is a "disk for code" trade in. Post them your game disk and receive a download code for that game.
Heck, I would even pay an extra £10 ($15) for that.

I would wait for the 3DS starter pack to drop in price when nobody buys it but you KNOW those crazy Amiibo collectors will drive the price UP in minutes of it going on sale.

They are desperate to see an increase over last year, so yes...they DO want you to buy the same product over and over again. Shareholders and all that.

None at all! You just get Instant Spitfire removed if there's anyone on the portal. In co-op, he's probably avaliable as long as you wait a sec on the magic moment.
Also let the WiiU up for over 12 hours and only got lag spikes at a crowded section in World 4. Probably working as well as physical!

eBay is being absolutely ridiculous with the price for Hammer Slam Bowser and the Clown Cruiser, though, for now there's no reason not to just buy the full 3DS game over getting them separately.

At least on the Eshop it's 49.99, dunno about PSN and Live, as I don't have an Xbox and the PSN version isn't up yet.

That price blows, my retailer sells the physical version for 60 bucks I just have to wait a week.

Instant Spitfire and Hot Streak looks cool, but really? $50? You can get the full starter for $75, and there's going to be some cheaper deals that will probably be $60 soon.

I was watching a launch stream yesterday and while they left it alone during online,the icons were replaced by the instants.
