Since Giants, the UK (and all of Europe now that I think of it) has been getting thenSkylanders game days after the US. Is there a reason for this? Skylanders is one of the only games I know that still does this. It can't be that they just don't have the game until then because some stores ALREADY have there stock in. Hell, some people on Instagram already have the game.

They need to add british accents to all the characters. That takes time.

So you're jealous of the Skylanders situation in the US while there are tons of Americans who are jealous of the Nintendo Amiibo situation in the UK and Europe? There's no rhyme or reason to why things happen a certain way with video games...it's best to be patient and smile at the fact that we have the luxury to afford these video game toys ![]() |

I'm curious about why Aus gets the TFB games before anyone else but the VV games after America. What's up with that? Just different marketing directions/workers for them?

Why can't we get the game on the 18th and Australia on the 17th so the difference isn't something like 5 days instead it would be 2-3 which is better than a 4-5 day difference.

The Australian release date's been pushed forward a day, so we now get it a whole day earlier than before. It may not be much different, but I'll take it!

I also think it's because they have to syncronize the characters, for example here they have to speak German. However, the last two years I wasn't that mad that we've gotten the game five days later, but thus time..... hm.

Isn't there some kind of localization issue with Europe? Even digital games sometimes get issues with that every now and then and end up coming out a week,if not a month, after the rest of the world. Kind of a milder version of when Skylanders still came out in Brazil... Three months after everyone else ._.

I know what you mean. Trap Team was the worst series yet in terms of toy distribution in Australia. I hope things work out better for SuperChargers.

Hey, at least there's only five days difference, and not a few months (Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) or up to, and even over, a year (Story of Seasons, amongst a fair number of other games). It's also partly to do with the days that games release in certain countries - the UK is traditionally a Friday(has been for many, many years now), whilst the US is usually Tuesdays (though, some publishers prefer Sundays over there). Yes, some things do get aligned for proper simultaneous (kinda) worldwide releases, but that's dependant on the publisher, and whether they think it'll be worth aligning the releases. As Skylanders is (supposed to be) aimed for kids, they're probably not that bothered about having it release earlier in the week here. Anyway, the reasoning for stores getting their stock in early is it helps them to prepare the shelf space, makes it easier to see what they have, how much space they need to sort... And they (GAME, at least) are getting the deliveries in waves, not all at once, to help stores from being overwhelmed. Pretty sure GAME haven't had the starter packs in yet, anyway, I've only seen the Wave 1 vehicles off yesterday's delivery, and no Skylanders from today. And, yes, some people do have the game already, because they've been sent review copies (though, they are embargoed until the 20th, so shouldn't ~really~ be posting lots of pictures/info, if they want to keep receiving review bits in future) |

Another question why in Europe everything related to the videogame industry and technology seems to be more expensive? Sometimes I feel like crying when I compare prices between amazon.con and europeans amazons.

Oh.....my......word.
Sorry, I'll assume many of you are less then 20 and never had a job, or at least dealing with logistics. If the toys are produced in China, the containers holding toys are gonna hit the US before Europe. They'll be distributed sooner and thus ready to launch earlier. The day of the week is also a cultural thing. Though most entertainment personal media is released on Tuesdays in the states, some family oriented releases are done on Sundays tying into the historic, even if waning, religious culture and Sundays being a family day. Your Australian releases are sometimes first (obvious closest proximity to factories), but I don't know VVs QC procedures, so that may delay the oversea release a bit more due to VV being Eastern US vs TfBs western location. Flights still take longer and all that jazz so that could play a hand in things. Not positive. Again, VV may want to send their own guys out to review the Aussie shipments while TfB just uses local Acti reps.

Glad heroic challenges are gone. Imagine doing 165 per skylander. That's 27225 challenges. No thank you. |

That's rubbish.
The stock is in the country months before the release date! They have shipping and distribution within each country which can be unreliable and customs do deal with. 5 days? That is a spec on the contingency time allowed in distribution for a product launch. The only reason for a 5 day delay is they wanted it to come out 5 days later. Why? No idea. But I can tell you it's nothing to do with US being 5 days closed to China. |

Please tell me that was a bad joke, otherwise I'm very offended by your post. I'm European and I'm very proud of my country and my continent. By the way, the british weren't the first to colonized US, the Spanish were. Where do you think the states names like florida, nevada, arizona, texas, california, etc came from? all of those are spanish names with spanish meanings. If you do a quick research of the most ancient european ruins at the US, you'll notice the Spanish ones are among them,

Different markets play by different rules. I feel that Activisions European division has put a lot of effort in making the decision based off of all information they have (the vast majority of which *we* don't have) that the 25th, for whatever reason, was a better launch date for the UK market.
Basically, Activision hates you. Not all of the UK, but you, personally. So much so that they're delaying the release of the game by five days for THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. |

btw, I only got to see the deleted rant post in the quote (thanks) but wtf?
I have no clue why me saying that the delay was unlikely to be due to strict timings with shipping (and if you ship from China and don't allow more than 5 days for delay you are an idiot) would cause that? Can somebody not about to go off on a rant to apparently insult everybody including themselves explain if I said something that could possibly be a reason for that rant? |

No, you didn't say anything wrong. Sometimes bad things happen, even if we haven't look for trouble. As unfair as it sounds ![]() Europe and US deserve the same treatment. The delay in Europe may be due to whatever reason, but not because it's a less important place. I do not like to read that kind of things, either in a direct or implicit way, that's repulsive.
