I could get through the intro, but after that I failed on the spot..

It's easy on easy.
Otherwise it's nearly impossible. I got through like 60% once on Medium I think? It was really hard.

When that song was the hot stuff, I actually joined in the trend by learning to play the damn song with an actual guitar. I never managed to learn the solos perfectly, though. And my style has shifted from fast solos for the sake of fast solos to more composed style of playing, so I will probably not learn those damns solos 100 %. And other factor to the equation is that I am mediocre or, at my best, barely good player so it is out of my technical bounds.

guitar hero makes the song sound a lot more complex to play than it actually is

it's not that complex of a song in terms of actually playing it, it's just the guitar effects make it sound like there's more to it.

^Definitely this. It was reported that the lead guitarist of Dragonforce actually couldn't beat the song on Expert because they intentionally made it harder than it really was supposed to be.

On that note does anyone else here actually listen to Dragonforce beyond TtFaF?

I used to listen on quite regular basis their production from the album Valley of the Damned to Ultra Beatdown. until I got extremely bored on their music. I actually went to one live gig they performed here in my hometown and performed incredibly well (especially Herman Li and the keyboardist). I haven't listened to the bands most modern work but I've been told that they have changed their music when compared to their earlier formula of long songs with note storm guitar solos.
