I realy like giving my Skylanders Nicknames. Some have emotional purposes or cartain events connected to them. Others have resemblence purposes. How about you? What are you going to call the Superchargers Skylanders (-If nicknaming is still possible?)

Splat: Smearglez - Because Smeargle is the paint pokemon.
BB Pop Fizz: Beast Cola - I've done it with all My PF's so far. I didn't had the Cola one yet.
Smash Hit: Spike - Due to the big amound of spikes
SS Terrafin: Rocket Shark - Pretty obvious
High Volt: Shield - I was getting low on ideas for this one
DD Trigger Happy: Daring grem - More of reference to his spiecies: Gremlin
Astroblast: None - I'm fine with the name. No need to change
Night Fall: None - See above
SS Stealth Elf: Sniper - More of a random name that I thought had to do with long range
Thrillipede: Caterpie - It's a caterpillar!
Donkey Kong: None - Can't think of anything good
Bowser: None - See above
LL Eruptor: Lance - Obvious name...
Spitfire: Tylor - A reference to a character I made myself.
Dive Clops: Cyclops - I started lacking on names
DD Gill Grunt: Tridant - He's holding a tridant.
BB Roller Brawl: Bone Rush - That's a part of her name...
Fiesta: Rayman - He reminds me of an enemy in Rayman: Legend
Stormblade: Dara B - Reference to one of my characters
H Jet Vac: Riskar B - See above

I'm keeping the normal names. I dont like renaming my skylanders

Not even normal nicknaming has been confirmed,they never let the select menu show up.

I won't get many,but as I said in my guestbook to people a few times, I like to name them after other characters or silly things because I hardly call them that anyway, everyone goes by their actual names.

Instant Spitfire might have to wait, since with a different color palette there might be better pun opportunities, and we don't know how he looks like yet.
Instant Hot Streak I might rename as Got Steak or something dumb.
Leaning on calling Fiesta as Big Band. He has a summonable band,and it's also is a character in Skullgirls.
Nightfall is Eris,no contest about it. She's pretty much a hero version of that character,minus the godly powers.
Sea Shadow probably Event Horizon,black holes and stuff.
Jet Stream I'll name as Silverwing; for the mod set and the bat from the book/show of the same name. Didn't have too much interest on the show or the book but hey, puns.
Crypt Crusher will probably be Wheel of Fate. The backstory calls the back wheel the Wheel of Doom but it's not as kewl.
If we can nickname villains in trophies and their vehicles,Golden Queen will be Eliza as her trapped version, vehicle Solar Barge since not only is the name I'd have given it,but it's also the boat attack that Eliza has in Skullgirls.

First, Gill Grunt has a "trident," not a "tridant."

With being "that guy" out of the way... I have a whole bunch of really great nicknames for my characters in Spyro's Adventure. However, in later games, some of them weren't showing up with their nicknames, which was irritating, but would have been okay. Giant onward I didn't nickname anything, since they removed what I feel there was no need to remove. I play on 360, and in Spyro's Adventure on 360, you could use the chatpad eyboard to rename things. The ability to do that was removed in Giants, and was never brought back. I was just far too annoyed that was is considered a basic feature on 360 was removed, so I never renamed anything again.

Renaming them backwards

I rarely ever nickname skylanders. I've only done it once with my custom Snap Shot that I took the traptanium weapons out of, painted him yellow, red, and orange, and called him Fruit Punch.

While I do intend to nickname my Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser in amiibo mode (every one of my FPs has a nickname, and these two would be no exception), I don't often nickname non-variant Skylanders, so they probably won't have special names as Skylanders. Having said that, here are the nicknames I'd use for some of my potential SuperChargers:

Splat: Squid Kid (Because Splatoon and one name for a young goat is a kid so are you a squid or a KID?)
Dark Donkey Kong: DK (This one is obvious, it's a well known abbreviation for Donkey Kong)
Bowser: Koopa King (Bowser is the Koopa King, therefor he is Koopa King)
Dark Spitfire: Dank Spitfiyah (wordplay)
Super shot stealth elf: NINJAsk11 (Darkspyro reference)
Dive Clops: Dyclops (Pun on the word cyclops, but he is a dive clops so his name is dyclops)
Nightfall: Eris (From Sinbad and the seven seas)

I know what you mean. But they have human bodies with gems in one part. Astroblast is 100% gem.

Well that's disappointing...

I haven't nicknamed my Skylanders until now, but I was going to finally start. (What with finally slimming down my collection.) Mainly because I don't like the repose Superchargers being the same characters as the S1 versions...

I even had some (but not all) pseudo-headcanons to apply to them. Like Super Shot Stealth Elf being Stealth Elf's older sister. Etc. (Not sure how I was going to go about the Minis...)

And just to make each skylander more of a character, to me, I was going to start giving them real names. Because let's all be honest, very few Skylanders have real names. Stealth Elf is a description, Chop Chop is an onomatopoeia, Drill Sergeant is a title, and Trigger Happy is an adjective. Even some Skylander who do have names, arguably, don't have very good ones. Eruptor, Jet Vac, Pop Fizz, and Terrafin just sound silly. Off the top of my head; Spyro, Cynder, Bowser, DK, Hex, Fiesta, Barkley, and Splat are the only skylanders with good, actual names. And half of them were established characters before skylanders started! (Which might be the only reason I'm not complaining about DK, honestly...) There are probably more, but I can't think of them right now. (Other than Fright Rider, and that's only being half true. I like the bird being named Fright, but I don't like the Rider being named Rider... He should get an actual name too!)

Isn't Rider already a real name, though? I mean, I usually see it spelled as "Ryder", but that's just splitting hairs.

You're not wrong about some characters having weird names. A lot of characters had better/more popular prototype names, to be honest. Remember when Whirlwind was called Stormee? Whirlwind's just kind of bland. The same is true for a lot of other mundane names.

I completely forgot that "Ryder" was a real name...

As for prototype names, the only one I know of is Sun Dragon for Camo (in this case, Camo sounds better). And I agree, Stormee us a much better name than Whirlwind! Maybe I should look at more Spyro's Kingdom prototype videos/articles...
