I have noticed a screenshot recently where it looks like Funny Bone is driving what appears to be Chill Bill's boat. How would that exactly work?

I think you can unlock both the playable villain and their vehicle in selection somewhere. But preeetty sure we haven't seen Funny Bone in footage yet, where did you see this?

It's hard to tell if it's anyone or just the back of the vehicle,but yes,it's Chill Bill's. Doubt it's Funny Bone in there however.

But some interviews mentioned you unlock the vehicle and the villain after you beat them in Boss Mode.

He does kinda look like Funny Bone to be honest but those crystals really make him hard to recognize.

You either unlock playable villains on-foot or their vehicles able to be used by anyone because otherwise there would be no point in saying "unlock the villains and their vehiclse" since we already know they come as one "character".

I'm leaning towards the second option though.

I just have the strongest feeling the traps will somehow be involved with this.

In the lobby menu you can see you can select the four slots of a trophy as a racer(which is how we discovered the Moneybone Trophy). Probably you have to switch the villain/vehicle around inside it on the hub before using it on the lobby.

Whoa, Boss Mode? Sounds awesome!

So can you play as a villain without a trophy?

I'm not sure what you meant since I saw just a few gameplay videos.

Do you mean we can choose the boss villains before playing the Trophy levels or maybe that we can select the playable villains by accessing that select in screen?

It's actually specific to the Gamescon build,so it might change since it works differently. In there you could select some Skylanders(which is why some people could pick Nightfall even if her figure wasn't avaliable to play with) and vehicles like in a fighting game, and in those screens aside from their icons you can find the Trophies, four of them identical and the same terrain as the chosen track.

I wish I still had the screenshot of the menu but last time I saw it someone cropped it to show just the Count Moneybone trophy. No idea from which video it's from either, I think it's from The8bittheater but I didn't find anything giving them a quick look now.

So, wait, you're telling me you think we won't need physical toys for online play?

...I'm cool with that.

No, that's the Gamescon build, they had the characters set so figures wouldn't be needed - it's probably why the story mode could be only played in another part of the booth. They did say the portal locks up during online play though,so knocking the figures over won't be an easy ragequit because the game will go on like you never removed them from the portal.

Yeah, confirmed a while back. This prevents a ton of problems I can see happening if people decided to change mid race...problematic in terms of the actual game and the technical issues surrounding it. You "lock" them in prior to starting a race.

Not sure who is driving Chill Bills vehicle. It isn't Chill Bill tho.

It's a rather interesting topic which raises an interesting question.

We can't tell; our only other footage of it is from behind and all I see there are the crystals as well. The big beige spot could be anything or anyone.

We know it's Chill Bill because a Chill Bill voice clip plays when the boat passes the player in a video.

I mean we know the boat is Chill Bill's, but the one in the screenshot doesn't necessarily need to be ridden by him. In the footage it's him though, but seeing the boat from behind means we don't know if it's beige-colored inside.

Isn't there like a bigger version of that picture that we can look at to get a better idea of who it is?

This is the best one we've got. It actually does look like part of the boat but just reflecting light,reason why it isn't dark like the rest of it. Still no distinguishable driver.


OH,and I finally found out where the Character Select screen was.Good old Connected Digital World and their no-commentary footage,at 0:20.

Looking at it closer, I think it may actually just be Chill Bill...
Mainly because the "Funny Bone" that everyone's seeing is just part of the boat.

That clearer picture definitely showss the beige part is actually part of the boat.

I can see something which might or might not be Chill Bill driving it... Kinda.
Frankly I don't think this boat suits his driver as much as the other ones do (except for the ice of course).

I'm actually more curious to know what are those red things behind Gulper's head.
They don't look like they are part of his vehicle and I don't remember any other Sea vehicle whith those features.

They almost look like they are emitting some kind of sauce...

It actually kinda looks like tomatoes... Which would be funny, considering this is proof Gulper doesn't like tomatoes.

Maybe it's simply an item which makes you shoot tomatoes or the Life elemental attack given when you have a trap inside the Portal.

Doubt it is part of Gulper's vehicle but it definitely is a funny coincidence.
