Ok, so my question is the title.
Are the Giants shrinking?
Saw gameplay of Crusher in Shark Tank, and to be honest, the Giants aren't looking that big.

Do you like this change for SuperChargers or not?

Discuss.

Don't own any giants, so can't really say if they look smaller or not. However, if they do so, I would like it, I think skylanders look more cute a bit smaller IMO.

They're smaller but not to a ridiculous extent, and probably like Bowser and shrinking down only to fit in the vehicle.

I never really liked the concept of the Giants, the only really thing was all basesd around big chsracters, and I never said anything about the gimmicks that year. The Giants themselves were awesome, but i would prefer if they were smaller for $10 they fixed this in swap force

Then they wouldn't be Giants. SF didn't fix it, the word kinda means really big thing, doesn't matter if you like the gimmick or not - I don't like swappers but they wouldn't be swappers if TT kept them from swapping parts. Though again, it wasn't a ridiculous change, the size difference is still noticeable and just closer to the figure proportions.

Absolutely don't like the change but it apparently only happens when riding a vehicle as Bifrost said.
They should still be as big as always while on foot.

They just went with a lazy choice once again instead of creating funny and original animations.
Would have preferred if they were trying to ride the vehicles as if they were true toys, literally settings on them.

Really curious to see how peculiar shaped characters such as Knight Mare or Thunderbolt are going to sit inside vehicles hoping they won't get lazy with them too.

Remember, the Giants were all about price testing $14.99 figures...Now all of our figures are close to that this year. Hurrah Giants!

I thought Crusher was just shrunk in order to fit in the vehicle :/

And even though the Giants do seem smaller, I feel like it's more "other sky landers have gotten bigger" rather than the Giants actually shrinking, because compared to most SG landers, they're still proportionally bigger

Giants were never that big... even in Giants i found them pretty small compared to the CGI trailers.

Well as of Trap Team the Giants were the biggest characters in game, still multiple times bugger than cores. So it works out still. They had to shrink them down to fit into the vehicles, that's nothing to be ausrprised about. And taking a look at the other 2 videos, there is one with Crusher and one with Terra Bite. Crusher is hardly in the vehicle, he looks so pressed for room. So I have no worries about their size in Superchargers.

The Giants only shrink when they're in a vehicle. Which makes sense. I mean, either you'd have a giant guy trying to squeeze into a tiny car or you'd have to make the vehicles larger, but less maneuverale.

Yeah, that would be pretty funny... But would it be fun, or rather possible to play as in-game?

Sure!

Imagine something like this:

[User Posted Image]

How hilarious would have been to see Thumpback trying to hold on Sky Slicer or Jet Stream while soaring the skies or Swarm uncomfortably trying to fit inside Stealth Stinger?

How much will they have to shrink to enter Sea Shadow or Dive Bomber...? Oh, wait I forgot!
No need to make animations for them either because you can't see trought the glass!
They could even stuff Drill-X inside them that way... smilie

Okay, firstly, I can't imagine something like that because that don't exist, and secondly, I think you missed the whole point. I'm saying they shrunk them down because it would be more practical for the player so they wouldn't have their vision blocked by a big guy and the chance of veering off the side of the road and crashing and burning into a FIERY DEATH would be removed.

Sorry, went all JonTron on ya for a second. But... You get what I'm sayin', right?

Yeah, having a Giant block 1/8 of your camera would be an issue since it's as zoomed out as it is, but just shrinking is still a lazy fix. Slapping some particles on and calling it Rift modulation to adjust the drizer's size or something would be a bit more acceptable excuse; heck we know the farm level will implement size changing devices, use those.
If we're getting an over-the-top vehicle fantasy, why not go all out? No need for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure levels of crazy but you can push some limits.

That's a rather good point.
Yes they could have explained that but OF COURSE... No don't make me say that once again.

They could have also simply adjusted the camera a bit when using a Giant so they wouldn't have been a problem.
Anything (except making vehicles bigger) would have been better honestly.

It's funny how they keep talking about "over-the-top crazy vehicle fantasy" and then get as uncreative and lazy as they can each time they could really push the pedal.

Oh and that exists.
I've never seen it in my entire life so far but it definitely exists.

I think Mad Max would've been a better analogy actually, but I meant more on taking things up to eleven. The designs are good and the concepts for the sections don't look half bad... But over-the-top? Long ways to get there. The closest the series got was Telescope Towers but it was still mostly just weird.

Yep.

Great everything honestly (tracks, vehicles, opponents) but I've yet to see the "over-the-topness" they are talking about.

It's kinda like how last year they were talking about a "game changing mind-blowing feature" to be revealed soon... And then they announced playable Minis.
Cute, nice and everything but definitely not what I have in mind when I think about those adjectives.

The point is I don't think they really need to talk about that.
We got it you are trying the best to deliver new and fresh gameplay and we really appreciate it... Just... Try to pay attention or else you might start developing a game which has nothing to do with this series (absolutely not referring to SuperChargers).

Heck I think traps were actually more innovative than vehicles!
Yes you heard it right: the "big innovation" is not that big to me.
Exchangeable items which can hold multiple characters and add a light strategic element to the entire game are waaaay more creative and innovative than yet another type of playable something restricted to specific areas, to me.

Yet Reiche didn't kept talking about "how traps were creative, innovative, over-the-top" and how they were tech wizards for being able to come up with them.
They focused more on villains rather than traps.
Because they knew traps were already magical and special as they were.

Vehicles... Are really just vehicles.
But hey, V.V. did implemented them in a really good way so... Great, right? smilie

Ok, this thread has made a pretty good discussion - I didn't know the Giants were purposely shrunk just for vehicles, but it seems other characters (Ka-Boom, example) are about as big as them!
