SuperChargers: All Your Questions Answered
Crash10 Emerald Sparx Gems: 4745
#1 Posted: 20:51:12 23/08/2015 | Topic Creator
Last weeks, we have a large quantity of topics created just to answer little questions. Ok, this existed during all the time of the forum (I think), but now I created a Topic just to answer ANY question regarding SuperChargers. Say what's your question, and I (or anyone) will answer. I will collect the questions and answers and post in this post, so other people can see and don't need to question it again.

So, feel free to question anything. Down below is the list of questions answered:

Q: Bowser and Donkey Kong will have their Soul Gens collectible?
A: They have Soul Gems.

Q: Nintendo exclusive content will be in the Official Guide?
A: No.

Q: How the Water vehicles that are boats, can go underwater?
A: Strangely, the Water boats simply go underwater, without even closing the seat were the character is. We wonder how the characters that can't breathe inside water can breathe.

Q: Can a Skylander use a Villain's vehicle, or verse-versa?
A: No.

Q: There will be Quests?
A: Yes. Specific for each Skylander.

Q: We need a Land vehicle to complete the game. But, we need a SuperCharger?
A: No. Aside from the vehicle, the only thing you need is any Skylander. It's not mandatory to have a SuperCharger specifically, but any type of Skylander works. A SuperCharger is only mandatory to open SuperCharger Gates, that are not element-specific.

Q: The Sea vehicles figures can be placed in water (in real life)?
A: No. You can damage the chips, making the toy unplayable. If you don't mind that, you can, like every other toy.

Q: Where is Spyro?
A: All of the Spyro figures can be used in SuperChargers. Also, Spyro plays a important role in the comics.

Q: What will be the deals in the future?
A: Always check your local retailers for deals. I can't list then.

Q: The Brock Arena Challenges will return?
A: No.

An FAQ would be nice(the one from Acti never answers enough anyway), but most people that are looking for answers and won't research first will create topics without a second thought.

Yes, this is true. Though, if this topic gains importance, it can even be Sticky, and the people reach the Forums, see the Topic in the listing, and, instead of create a new one, they will enter here.

Do you think Skymibo's will have slul gems? If they do than the Nintendo levels will be slightly rearanged. Wlould it need a separate straregy guide?

Well, slul gems have never been a thing in the series, so I don't think we'd have to worry.
I'm sorry. In all serious now, I think they might just have their Soul Gems unlocked from the start without a need to find them in a level. Kind of like how it is for, say, Series 2 Spyro.

I'm confident Skymiibos will have Soul Gems.
They will probably simply replace certain Treasure Chests or be in empty places.

The guide will most likely be based off the Nintendo version because it is the most complete (even if the only extra things are actually the Skymiibos, their vehicles and the related mods/Soul Gems).

Also, great idea Crash10!
This will indeed help avoid the creation of 100 question topics. smilie

I actually have a question, just to keep this thread going.

So we all know how the sea vehicle's shtick is going underwater, right? For Dive Bomber, Reef Ripper, and Sea Shadow, their designs fit this perfectly being submarines. Splatter Splasher and Soda Skimmer are just regular boats... So how do you think they go underwater, or do you think they will at all?

We've seen they go underwater. Considering it's magic, they'll probably create some sort of shield so the Skylander can breathe inside, but there's just few seconds of gameplay for each.

I guess all the Sea villain's vehicles will also be able to go underwater somehow.
Particularly curious about Golden Queen's.

Well she doesn't have a throat(at least the shading shows her mouth ending where you can see it, like a statue), so doubt she minds being out of oxygen. But in the screenshot she almost disappears under it when sitting,so it's deeper than it looks and could hold some sort of protected cabin that isn't visble when in the surface.

I guess that's very possible.
She was really hard to spot inside it.

Frightbeard's ship could simply go underwater as it is (like the good old Flying Dutchman) and the Mabus' barrels seem perfect as well.
Gulper is a sea creature so he definitely doesn't need a protection of any kind and Mesmeralda uses magic so I could see her casting a barrier as well.
This still leaves out Chill Bill's vehicle (which I personally haven't seen enough in detail to even know how it looks), some of the new enemies and a fire (?) looking vehicle spotted right behind Gulper in one of the Tropic Plunder's screenshots.

I don't think Skylanders will be able to drive villains' vehicles (and I also doubt about the opposite) and we don't even know if they'll have names and upgrades.
But I really don't know much about them either; from what I personally understood vehicles and villains act as a single "character".

So they did hinted at it, uh...?
Interesting... REALLY interesting.
We could even find matching vehicles for all our collection then (Gulper's vehicle would suit Wham-Shell quite well and I would love if I could race as Wash Buckler using Frightbeard's ship).
That would really encourage mix and matching. smilie

It's not confirmed, it's only rumors, but it will be good if we can use villains vehicles with Skylanders, or vise-versa.

I was wondering about something that had not been addressed much. Not so much a question, as I know there is little information on it. But, nonetheless, I saw this thread and thought it might go to use here.

There appears to be three types of quests available in Super Chargers. We know of challenges for Super Charge Combos, but nothing on these quests yet. Even I am not entirely sure how they differ or if one is the same.
Anyway, with Hugo and Tessa having at least ten each and Buzz having his own quest(s?). It might be a topic to add to the list for those confused about the difference between the possibly different types of quests during this time of lacking information.

Just in case this is the kind of spoiler some people are trying to avoid.

There is no editing going on over here...

I know this have been discussed, but I'm still unsure about it: Is clear that we will need a land vehicle to complete the storyline, but what about a supercharger? Is a supercharger figure essential, as well, to complete the storyline?

I'm not talking about completing 100% the game (obviously more figure and vehicles are required for this) but only about the main storyline?

Supercharger is implied not to be needed because their use is Supercharger Gates, they're only in the starter packs to be "necessary to complete the game" because there are no cores to take their place. After all, new players need to be able to complete story mode without additional purchases unless they want to, Instant pack or not.

Supercharger gates exist although they only require one supercharger and are not element exclusive also we have footage of soda skimmer going underwater

Yeah, it makes sense: they are included to fill the role of a "core skylander" (intended for players who do not own already other figures). It would dissapointing for newcomers to buy the starter pack and not be able to play the game unless they make additional purchases.

Therefore I think the vehicle is really the only true requirement, which makes me think about either getting the digital version or a second hand game + land vehicle.

So why have a gate if everyone gets to go into them just by buying the starter? A gate is meant to keep people out--doesn't feel all that exclusive to me. smilie Doesn't sound special.... the whole gated thing is a double edged sword I get it. I'm all for removing gates and using in game mechanisms specific to certain skylander abilities and/or element abilities--you know---make it more PUZZLE based. Everyone remembers back in SSA you had to be smart enough to put a LIFE character on to get to a certain location in level 2 or 3, right?

Well it's keeping people out, since it's a Rift(or at least a mechanism that imitates one) that kinda obviously only Superchargers can mess with. And since it acts like a teleporter, the location being far makes it even more exclusive sounding. Let's keep it at a nice one-char-needed gate for once like Feats of Strength.

It's in one of the big gameplay videos of Cloud Kingdom FGTV has. It's a weird gold and black/dark blue floating ring in four pieces, and when a Supercharger puts it back together, it creates a rift not unlike the ones we've seen vehicles come out of. Might not apply to all, but you're teleported to a new area if you enter it.

It's in the official FAQ, they're not waterproof. Same can be said about the character figures which can take a dip, but I wouldn't risk more than cool quick pictures unless you want to destroy the chip inside.
