i have so many of these caterpillars in my garden:

i want one as a pet (wish they turned into butterflies instead of moths though) xD

EDIT: and no i don't eat caterpillars.

When I was little I used to eat the really fuzzy caterpillars a lot.

Those are called wooly worms around where I live. The colors on them are supposed to tell how cold/snowy this winter is going to be, like if it's all black it's supposed to mean it's going to be an extremely cold winter. There's actually a town not far from my school that has a Wooly Worm Festival each fall. I've never been myself but I hear it's a lot of fun, like people train their own worms for races and stuff. It sounds really weird but it's pretty cool lol

Where I used to live we had these neon yellow/green/orange striped caterpillars that were poisonous and if you got infected it could get so bad you might lose the limb they bit.
