This is project Wizard Tower, my first ever PC. Please post on topic, I wanna talk about the pc, and that's all in this topic. Thanks! smilie

My uncle recently decided to let me build my own pc, because he built one when he was my age and that is how he started to his pathway to an amazing career and yada yada yada. Long story short, he gave me 3.5k to build a computer, because he thinks it would be good for me. Please don't talk about the money, I just want to know what you think of my computer build.

Updated the part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xyBQWZ

Suggestions please. smilie

I do like that that build. Right now I'm saving money to build my own. I even have that same PC case but it was all black and then spray painted it to look more Tron like. I would change the headset to wireless, the cable really gets in the way :/

Well, not really. The first computer I have ever built that I get to keep. The rest I have built with my uncle for fun.

Still missing power supply and operating system.

If you are getting the Titan X then you might as well get what you can out of it and go for a better monitor (even if you have to spend a bit more for it). The last monitor you had up there had a good resolution for the Titan X. Though if the resolution is not a concern for you, 1080p will work well.

I know, but I kinda want a cheaper alternative so that I could save the rest for software, and maybe some extra stuff I'll need for it in the future. And odd that it is not saving the OS, I have put in on there three times. Any cheaper than the first one suggestions for the monitor?

dont go cheap on a power supply, you can accidentally mess up your whole pc by doing that

whats the purpose of the build?
the thing i've noticed about this is that it has the "more expensive is better" approach, if you are just playing games then you could easily downgrade to an i5 with no loss (even then if its just for minecraft or something an i3 would be more than fine). if you are going to be doing xtreme hardcore video editing or just feel like spending a lot then keep the i7.

now with the two solid state drives, it would be better if you just got one and then got a hard drive like pixil said. one terabyte hard drives are pretty damn cheap these days.
moving on to the graphics card, a titan x seems a little extreme but i have no idea what you are gonna be doing with it so yeah.

bro you don't need the best of the best
i have an overclocked geforce gtx 660 graphics card and it performs so well i don't think i'll ever need a better one

Ok, so, I decided to downgrade to just one GTX 980. Might get the 990 when it comes out, but for now, I will do a 980.

That is the updated link to check it out.

I'm probably going to use the other $500 just for software and stuff. If you have any more suggestions to my pc though, please let me know!

The GTX980 is almost the same thing as a 970 but a lot more expensive. I would go back down.
i7 does nothing for gaming, hyperthreading adds like 1 FPS. Go for an i5.
