I don't think this needs to be stickied. Also, some/most of these games are probably going to be different to SSC, therefore it might not be accurate "training".

Well, since you already mentioned Rocket League which is a PS4 exclusive I'm gonna mention the PS3 game which came before it: Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars.

A classic.

Star Fox 64 3D for the 3DS is good practice for those Flying levels.

No, lol, sega genesis is veeeeeeery old, no games had come out for it since a long time. I have this street racer game in my pc though and it's amusing, just thought it would a good "trainig" for the land tracks

I'd have a PS2 still if I wasn't short on money for new games all the time; don't diss the old consoles especially the one with the most variety of its time. Racing games were anything but lacking in it, from Gran Turismo to Shovelware to weird anime adaptations.

Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is on the PC as well, so might as well add that there. And the fact that their aren't any racing games listed under Xbox One is one of the reasons that I'm excited for SuperChargers.

Now regarding the actual topic: Ridge Racer Type 4 (Ps1), Need For Speed 2 (ps1), Grand Theft Auto's can actually give you some driving genre skills, thanks to a good deal of race-n-chase missions. Sonic Riders (Ps2/GC/Xbox)

AzarianGO, You're Brazilian? Because, you know, Show do Milhão.

I can't say I proudly know that two games are based on a popular brazilian gameshow. They're shovelware that someone thought it was a great idea to release on a dead console.

Not sure if Sonic Riders would be good training for this, it's a lot 'lighter' to control than the vehicles and the mechanics are far from the simplistic racing mechanics in SC.
However, I don't really know any games to recommend that aren't there already. The racing is looking out to be pretty simple and moderately paced,so need for crazy 200cc MK strategies and whatnot, at least unless they don't add a similar mode later on as well.
