Alright the first thing that came into mind with the online was ( Apart from racing ) Trolls think about playing a lvl. You get the request and you join it with some random person. No way to speak to them ( Maybe that's for the best since kids play this ) Anyway they take forever to change skylanders. And say they are driving what if they don't drive ? So it will be easy to troll on skylanders. Way way way too easy I hope there is a way to disable the little pop ups like this. Camo Lover Wants to join Sunburn Lover's game. ( Example) Or just disable online for the time being. I have a ten year old brother and a 8 year old brother. They play little pvp MMO based games online. So imagine a child coming face to face with a troll ! I wonder how they will prevent this.

They are blocking online chat, unless you are playing with a friend.

Still we got trolls and people who are clueless. So for example I want to collect a hat. But the person who is clueless wants to finish the lvl ! Also for the trolls they would take forever to change skylanders. And you know that little line. They will keep you there.

Just put a countdown on choosing like every single online game with big character rosters. 50 seconds for vehicle, 80 for Skylander, if they let the time roll to the end they're kicked out. Yeah it's still a whole two minutes, but it's far.

Personally here is how I would handle it. If the 2nd player is changing a skylander it changes to one player. Once they are done then it changes back to two player so it's like drop in and drop out. As for the line I would have a host system. So if the other joined player is trolling with the line. Or maybe being mean or unkind. ( I'm guessing there is a type chat ) The host can kick them.

That'd be amazingly complicated and screw up the scoring system, which probably is around.
Kicking would probably happen if we have lobbies, from the looks of things seems like random matchup.

At least people from the forum can start playing together when the game comes out

Oh, just managed to see the internets. It's a lobby system, so you can probably kick people in it.

I like how it's just if your playing with a friend. That chat thing with other people just seems a bit off since it's a kid games. It's probably why they avoid Online mode in the first few games.

Or just don't play the online version.

That way no trolls

I would like to see how they handle online safety. It is a kids game after all.

I worry about people who have rubbish WiFi connection. If one person dcs, it will probably stop the whole race.

Yeah my wii fi is a bit poor sometimes. I don't think skylanders was really meant for online really. I would love online skylander pvp tbh doe.

I'm going to be doing the racing online... But in terms of story campaign, I'll be doing that solo.

I believe it was stated that online play what you choose is what you choose. Meaning you cannot switch during the level. While clearly not optimal, it eliminates a lot of possible issues.

I get kind of pushy in co-op, so I would get annoyed quickly without a chat from others not doing anything, but I don't want to chat with strangers by voice anyway. And the online co-op wasn't that part just friends? So there is chat there? Either way I don't have friends irl who still play the series.
Racing idk if I'll do much though, as Mario Kart 8 is still here, and probably better for racing.

Yup, the portal locks down during online,and you can't force it to give the 'put the skylander back' error message. But it still doesn't solve someone's internet getting in the way.
