Pro prostitution? Anti Prostitution? Discuss.

I think it's fine as a last resort. For people who can't find a job (and are actually looking for one), and need a little spare money to get them back into the swing of things. But not a permanent solution.

It's legal in my country and I think it's fine, as Qcumber said people can do what they want.

The reason why it's illegal in most places in because it spreads disease. So I'm against it simply for that (without going into personal beliefs)

It really depends on the person, some people don't seem to be affected at all emotionally.

Like Mesu said, I think it's fine as a last resort when you're just at rock bottom. The only problem I have with it though is that a lot of prostitutes end up getting into drugs or already use drugs and that's why they became prostitutes in the first place. Other than that, I don't see much harm in it. It's no worse than other people having sex for normal reasons, the only difference is the prostitutes get paid.

Legalize and regulate it for the safety of both the workers and clients.

.........Oh you mean how I feel on the actual job itself? Well if the person actually wants to do it then I really can't object, but I do feel bad for those who feel like they have no choice but to sell themselves to make ends meet.

Is it consentual? Yes.

Is it safe? Safer if legal.

Will making it illegal stop it? No.

Is it a victimless crime? Yes.

It passes the scratchking22 custom-made legality test. I don't see why there is a problem with it.

I think it should be legal but highly regulated for health and safety reasons. If a person wants to use his or her body to make a profit, let them. Much like drugs and alcohol, making it illegal just causes more harm to everyone by handing it over to criminals to manage.

I can't believe that prostitutes can just switch themselves off completely.

It should be legal, but with some restrictions.

The prostitute should always be in control of who she/he will have sex with (i.e. no "pimping").
Prostitutes should not dress indecently/flaunt themselves in public.
Prostitutes should be required to take tests for STD's and to disclose this information to anyone who wants to use their services.

It's not exactly a secret how pornography is made. Porn actors really do have sex with their co-actors (or do it in a theatrical way anyway, since natural sex really doesn't look all that exiting).

Porn is often "fake" in the sense that the actors exaggerate and say certain things they may not normally say in sex. And they might use certain "enhancements" too.

But I'm pretty sure 99% of the time the actual sexual activity is legit. And if it's faked, it generally isn't though computer animation, it'd be as simple as the camera not focusing on the "important" parts (which isn't necessarily a definite sign it's faked).
