Elemental Plants in main games?

Here's something I remembered from the days of Skylanders Universe and its short lived two years - they made such a big deal about how Skylanders can all eat elemental plants and gain an energy boost from it, and why outside of it and Lost Islands, they don't even grow anywhere?
For those who weren't around at the time, the elemental plants grew absolutely everywhere like weeds, no matter the element of your personal island - I actually think one of the many major glitches during the Giants update were that they wouldn't ever despawn and you'd see 10 plants growing over each other - and your Skylander would obviously end up disgusted trying to eat the mess because you wouldn't know the element of the one you clicked. You can find a list and pics of them in the Wiki, and Lost Islands, though they're not eaten raw but made into Radiance, added Dark and Light plants eventually.
But in the main games? Not a hint of it.(At the most the weird green pumpkins in the games are Thornkins, but even that's debatable) You don't find Death Caps in Undead areas, despite the abundance of foresty levels you'll only find trees that slightly resemble Ambrosia trees(Lost Islands makes them ground plants but details),you don't even find Bubblies in ponds. And, of course, there aren't any to eat, no bonuses to gain; wouldn't it be a nice idea for a temporary powerup around the level that does more than regular food?

Really hoping that(gameplay spoilers),
with the addition of Willy's Wishing Well in a main game,

we can have more things from the spinoffs, and this would be an amazing addition. Feel free to disagree, though, or give suggestions of your own.

This was something I always felt would fit into the games better than the alternatives we currently have.

While I suppose floating burgers, pizzas and watermelons are easier for younger players to identify as health-replenishing food, I much preferred the idea of naturally growing magical plants with healing properties, as that would actually made sense in healing a Skylander (especially considering somes Skylanders have no mouths with which to eat, or stomachs with which to digest(Drill Sergeant, Bouncer, Gear Shift, etc))

It is one of the features from the spinoff games that I would like to see make an appearance, perhaps as rarer health drops only found in respective elemental zones, or reward more health to a Skylander of the corrisponding element. Something along those lines.

Oh wow, these are really cool - I had no idea they existed. I'd love to see them in a main series game!

Really cool idea!

Would definitely make more sense than... Floating hamburgers or ice creams.
May also work as power ups as you said, maybe to boos the Elements (if a Fire Skylander eats a Fire plant he/she would be able to cross lava stream or get past fire obstacles for example).

Skylanders Universe was a really big shame because TFB really loved it - they even let us play it several days before SSA with randomized Magic/Tech/Water skylanders - but the Giants update just destroyed the game's servers(from that plant glitch to the super laggy servers to Giants causing all sorts of weirdness while trying to walk around to... *thunder* Ground Defense.). Hoping they're planning to bring at least the concept of personal islands with visits to the mainland someday.

Well, the stock food makes sense because that's obviously what Mabu eat(Lost Islands is good reference on that, you use the Snack Stand's drumsticks, sheepwiches and chompsicles to feed them and the occasional gluttonous skylander, while plants are either supplies, spice, medicine or pigment), but in Universe definately wasn't other things to eat since you used all the boosts to play games with enhanced elemental abilities. I don't think the ported games now actually use it, but in the angry birds rippoff, it definately made a difference. As powerup it could definately work.

Maybe in SuperChargers there could be a toy box where you can build anything and you can find different structures and stuff in different levels then you could put the stuff in the toy box and one of the farm level toy box parts could be a little mini farm and you could put it in the toy box and plant elemental plants wuth coins and you can use the plants to level up a skylander faster. But the toy box part makes it feel to muchlike Disney Infinity...
