I've been thinking lately what the trophies would do in game other then unlocking a racing character, with dark edition releasing with an earth and sea vehicle, I thought to myself, what if the trophy acts as a vehicle during story mode but can only be driven by the trophy character.

This would explain why we don't get stealth elf's helicopter in dark edition as kaos has an air vehicle to play as in game. The only thing that makes me question this is the wii u version being two land vehicles.

The trophies will unlock a villain and a new race track.

I think villains and their vehicles will be playable only during vehicle areas and only the ones of the right terrain type.

The question is: do I have to put the Trophy on the Portal to play as a villain or does it unlock him/her to be used at will after it has been placed for the first time?

Exactly! Would be nice if this is the case, then I'll probably will be more willing to buy these.

comes down to stealth elf's vehicle isn't even in wave 1 or 2, that's why you get the other one. which in a way throws it off since the character who drives it doesn't get included instead of stealth elf. it would have made a better sense to do so.

think of the action packs as the adventure packs, but here instead of a new area you get more races and a person to go with them. you get a taste of this in the dark starters with kaos.

My theory is there will be about four trophies (one of each terrain type plus Kaos, who can be used in ANY terrain), and each one has a selection of races (similar to the Cups of the Mario Kart series), plus it doubles as a playable Villain for use in races. The Trophy must be on the Portal to race as the Villain in the main version of SuperChargers, but can be loaded into the Wii and 3DS versions to race anytime.

@tigerdr I figured that Dark Super Shot can SuperCharge the Dark Sea Shadow, and that variant Skylanders may be paired up with variant Vehicles differently to their regular counterparts.

Maybe Trophies. Are used to unlock certain race areas ? And can unlock Sky Stones for the golden queen etc ?
