Style over substances is what is says on the tin to criticise any form of entertainment that's more visual flare than anything else.

Substance has more value in the long-run but but does it ever work the other way around. Can the other way around have the same negative effect? Show, don't tell?

My example? Long-winded slideshows or a ton research overshadowed by a passionless presenter.
