I just received a copy of yoshi's woolly world for half price and I can't play it due to stupid region lock, does anyone know a way to bypass region lock on wii u? I really want to play this game before October so if someone could help me, I would be extremely grateful.

You'll have to import a Japanese/ European Wii U (depending on what version you have). I thought thought that it was common knowledge that Nintendo consoles are region locked, it has been that way since the NES.

^Actually the DS wasn't region locked.

But yeah you were better off waiting for it to come out in October here. Best I can tell you is to sell the game or return it. You can mod your Wii U but that's risky business.

We are but once it gets into the discussion of where to get ROMS/ISO's, that's where it stops.


There are currently no ways to bypass region lock for Wii U games or homebrew on the Wii U OS and probably won't for another couple of years.

I would not recommend modifying your Wii U, you could end up with a broken console.

There's no way of modifying it anyway currently, unless he wants to install the Homebrew Channel to the Wii OS which is unrelated to his original question.
