Is it confirmed that the level cap will go up to 25 or stay at 20? Or do we not know yet? I would like it to go up so all my past skylanders become useless.

In a video they said 20 but the superchargers can go to 21 when paired with the corresponding vehicle.

i hope they have a more fun way to level up your characters this time rather then the Kaos challenge.
I'd like to see something like the Lost City of Arkus. It was actually kind of fun to level up on that level. |

Still 20? It should have 30 by now! Do DI figures even have a level cap?

A level cap is the last thing DI's figures should worry about.
How about focusing on unique gameplay and upgrades and implementing the possibility to be played in any level, first? There are no excuses for the devs' lazy choice to not increase the level cap (just make legels effect more stats outside of the health and add a light RPG feel by allowing players to choose which stats to upgrade and there you are, no more "balancing" problems) but I don't think DI's figures should be taken as an example.

Level 21 for the superchargers is something at least, so that's not too bad. I wish it was 25, but I'm ok with them increasing it to 21 for the superchargers specifically. |

I'd love a level cap increase to 30. The only reason this would be a problem is that the giants' health would be ridiculously high. Balancing that would be difficult, but they just need to spend a bit figuring it out. No other excuses.

Easily solved by letting you decide which stat to increase with each level. Or if they want to make it simplier they could just boost one stat at time. Increasing only the health is not what I would call "level up", not after 4 games.

Exactly!
I think part of the magic SA had was given by the light RPG elements which are now slowly fading away. That would be an easy, fun and kids' friendly idea to bring them back and improve the general experience. ![]()

I like the idea of RPG elements. It would be nice if you had like:
-Health -Power -Defence -Speed And then with each level up you got 1-3 points (since theres only 20 levels, 3 points may be better), that you can put on any of the stats. Then each character could have different max caps. Tree Rex would have a high power max cap and a small speed max cap, but stealth elf would be vice versa. Then you can decide how you want to distribute the points as you receive them. And as for characters we've already played with, all they have to do is award you instantly with all the points for the level youre characters currently at when first placed into the game. It would add a whole new depth to the game, and allow you to have your 6,000,000 stealth elfs but have each one play differently

Or maybe. Keep the levels up to level 20 only for health. That way you'll have max health when you're "done". But say after that do what Diablo 3 does and have paragon levels, where you continue to "level up" and each time it gives you a Stat point to put into various stats, fr skylanders it would be Strength (attack), armor (defence), speed (speed), and elemental bonus (bonus percentage in a matching elemental zone). Each paragon level could give you 5 points and each stats maxes out at 100 percent so to speak. To counter every skylander ending up the same, just have each one having their own different base stats kind of like pokemon, that way prism break could have a really high strength Stat at the end but be slow, even at the 100% boost, but have someone like Spitfire being really fast with only moderate other stats. I think that would be a really good way to keep your characters growing, at least for a while.

Wow, Luck got the cold shoulder twice... Poor Trigger Happy and other crit heavy Skylanders...
Joking aside, I do like the idea of having Elemental Bonus based on something other then the number of Skylanders-per-said-element. As someone who plans on passing up on the Eon's Elites and Skymiibos, this year is looking incredibly unbalanced. Also, is there another way you can explain your 100% boost idea, GinjaNinja? I am not familiar with Diablo 3, but I am with Pokémon; and I cannot tell if you are explaining something similar to the Effort Value system in Pokémon, or an entirely different concept from the formerly mentioned series. Again, sorry for my ignorance. |

Sorry if I worder it confusingly. Let's take Slam Bam, a personal favorite of mine, did 100 damage with an attack. Once you grind his levels and get his strength Stat to 100, that means his attacks would gain an addition 100% to it, resulting in his damage then being 200. Or maybe max the boosts at 50%, so his attack would end at 150 damage. And yeah, I forgot luck for critical hits. Let's add that to! Hopefully that helps describe what I meant. |

Though you guys gotta keep in mind that the games are balanced around Skylanders having set attack damage, with the Power modifier actually being crit chance(damage in TT? Some attacks deal triple the actual damage on dummies sometimes). Of course, if they changed the stat mechanics there'd be no reason to keep it, but we know how weird some of the teams' decisions turn out.
I think using XP to change stats would be awesome. As I said in other threads about this,it's not something you can spend like gold in these games; you get to 20 and there's nothing else to be done about it. They really push the excuse that people will want to keep leveling up their collections but the truth is that you just switch to who's lesser leveled and kinda forget about your maxed out not-so-favorite guys since after that nothing else can be changed about them that you actually want or need. I'd love to use the levels for Speed stat on my Hexes, for example, because when they're all high leveled already I'll have no reason to use LC or S1; Hijinx is faster than all of them and S2 already does what all of them do better because Skull Buddy compensates the slow as molasses gameplay. If they all had high speed it'd be fun no matter which one I chose, even if it's just +10 or something.

Is there a Power stat in Trap Team? I thought it was the standard console stats of Health, Armor, Speed, Critical Hit and Elemental Power. Maybe we are crossing cards and in-game stats into a knot here. Anyways, I think changing up the system would be well received. As long as they have a good rhythm for set base stats of each characters and not make new characters out pace the old with each new instalment, I doubt anyone would complain. ...Well, I should add that the gimmicks will likely always be an exception. They will always try to make the new gimmicks better than the last. Oh well, I care more about the cores being balanced as it is. Fingers crossed or what have you. |

The way it works (too tired to dig up the video, can't remember which ones have it either) is that they get an additional level on top of their current level while supercharged (paired with their vehicle). If their actual level is maxed out at 20, it'll go up to 21. If it's just 2, it'll go up to 3. Switch out the vehicle, and it'll drop back down to its actual level.
