Have you noticed how we have yet to see one male gem?
Is it a coincidence or something more?
What do you think?

With the except of Steven (and technically Rose, who created a womb for Steven), all gems are genderless.
All of the gems are rocks. Sentient, magical, space rocks. Rocks do not have genders. They use female pronouns because they want to In reference to masculine form, have you SEEN Jasper?

The Gems are pretty much like the Namekians from Dragonball. |

yeah, definitely you can see that she's more structured to look feminine. Garnet in an episode (can't remember which) said that all gems' bodies are illusions. So, they basically all just look female because that's just kind of how all these sentient alien space rocks feel natural as. Of course, like Amethyst shows, they can change into more masculine forms but they choose to stay feminine. That's just how it is.

Ian ( or a story board artist im unsure at the moment) has stated once on their tumblr that all gems are nonbinary but use she/her pronouns.

I mean, do we really need gem that uses masculine pronouns? Do we need one that "looks" masculine? Men don't have to look far for positive representation, so it's nice that women get a large cast of positive role models for once. Especially in children's show mind you. I'd be a-okay if the show went it's entire run without ever having a male gem.

Steven Universe actually has fabulous representation of most things you can think of. In terms of men, you have Greg who is one of my favourite characters. I don't really know how to explain it, but there are many families in Beach City with fathers who represent how men can be gentler and sweeter than people may think. You have Sour Cream / Onion's dad, who adopted Sour Cream, the Fryman family etc. Meanwhile it also shows how female figureheads can be strong such as the Crystal Gems, not a lot needs to be said here. Steven also has (if you don't include the Crystal Gems as his parental replacements), only one living parent and has to deal with a lot of things yet acts from his heart. I am passionate about this show, whoa jeez.
