A Question Regarding Evolved Villains [CLOSED]

I'm not saying how to revert back to the normal appearance of evolved villains, I know that's impossible. My question is something that I might have found in an older topic, but unsure about it...

When a villain is evolved, does the evolved villain data save on the trap's chip and not in the game's save file? This could be useful information for something I would like to do eventually.

It is saved on the chip. The game file documents if you've completed the quest.
