Spyro, is in the same boat as these guys. I believe it was once stated the Spyro is not from Skylands, obviously these "Halflings" as I'm calling them are not either. This is no different than if Skylanders had started without Spyro and then in the third or fourth game they added him and Cynder. I see the problems that these characters may bring for the series but I assure you, continuity, is not one of them.

Still doesn't explain why Bowser is on the good side. This time there isn't anything for him, and it's not the Mushroom Kingdom for him to keep another villain from being competition.

Well, either one of these theories of mine:

1. The Bowser in Skylands is different than the one in the Mushroom Kingdom and prefers being a good guy.

2. Bowser accidentally wound up in Skylands and had a bad run-in with the Trap Team, and they locked him up in Traptanium and sent him to Skylanders Academy to become a good guy.

3. Mirror of Mystery. 'Nuff said.

Eh, I think that Kaos tried to invade thr Mushroom Kingdom and attempted to take over each of their dominions; Bowser Castle and DK Island.

I initially thought that then remembered the Skylanders Dad & Kids leaking Nightfall as a Dark character yesterday, so it looks like the actual Light & Dark elements are still being represented with at least 2 of each per the original release details. Activision just isn't sticking to the "only 40 things to get" line that they threw out with the announcement which should come as a shock to no one.

So I assume, DK and Bowser ONLY? I guess if they sell well more will come in future games. And PS4 and Xbox will get their exclusives too.

Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal.
Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.

Bowser has joined Mario when there was a greater threat a foot. It's not entirely out of character of him. Perhaps Kaos plans to go across other dimensions after he destroys Skylands?

His motivation is probably similar to when he fights against Culex in Mario RPG or Fawful in Bowser's Inside Story:

He's supposed to be the bad guy! He can't have another chump taking all the glory! For now, he sides with the Skylanders until the pest is taken care of. Then it's back to being bad!
